Anyone been looking at EY online bookings recently ?

Have been challenged to get to Dubai for something next week. EK fares in J (let alone F) are stupendous at a time of shrivelling demand, so I look at Etihad. That’s OK, credits welcome to my VA acct.

Some curious differences in fares to and from, but EY generally a few $K cheaper that Emirates, depending how much you want to price a limo transfer (independently it’s about $130/140 AUH to Dubai, acc to my TA).

But after 2 days of looking/comparing transit times, preferred flight arrivals etc etc, the EY website stops delivering daily 2 x MEL and 2 x SYD options each way. Depending when I look, Syd return options are reduced to the morning 777 departure from AUH, or the evening 787 to Melb. Missing are the A380 evening option to Syd (difficult aircraft to lose?) and the same eve de from AUH to Mel.

so I phone EY - oh no sir, all flights are operating on your mid/end Mar dates. Must be a browser issue yr side, plenty of J and F avails.

Next day TA says sorry, second Mel daily inward flt reduced to single pm dep/arrvl and A380 seems to hv disappeared.

So be careful with EY Aust schedules - they are not what they seem..

I’m thinking that EY were loading new flight schedules which has possibly caused issues on their website.

Etihad Airways from 30MAR20 once again introduces double daily Airbus A380 service on Abu Dhabi – Sydney route, as EY450/451 switched to A380, replacing 777-300ER, until 30JUN20 (AUH departure). Selected dates may still see EY450/451 served by 777-300ER.

EY450 AUH1050 – 0630+1SYD 388 D
EY454 AUH2155 – 1750+1SYD 388 D

EY451 SYD1555 – 0040+1AUH 388 D
EY455 SYD2055 – 0540+1AUH 388 D

Redeploying from Seoul, I expect. Quite something to see them actually flying the big bird though!

Anyone know current status of EY from Syd? Booking on EY455 (A380) at beginning of May... all seems OK for the time being, but who knows.
