Is there a good hotel near CGK airport for positioning purposes?
If not staying in town, there’s several very close to CGK. The Ibis Budget and Ibis Styles are very cheap functional options. I’ve stayed at the later about 5 times in the last 3 yrs. It has a free airport shuttle to/from the airport. Getting it from the airport is a bit of a hassle but fine getting back.

Further afield are some options at PIK attached to a large shopping mall that has decent food options.

The Sheraton may still be okay but was slated to be closed in 2018 due to additional taxiway works. Have a look at where it is on google maps and the taxiway to nowhere nearby…

Swissotel is average. Maybe just below Ibis Styles and similar to Swiss-Bel.

If you want to stay within five minutes and spend $70, stay at FM7, or Ibis Styles. If you want to spend $120-200, stay at the new Fairfield (next to Ibis) or at one of the (now TWO) Anara Hotels attached directly (landside) to T3.

I have (in the past now!) earnt many VFF SCs from EY flights from CGK. Such a pity. Maybe QR will have some good deals from there eventually.

Whats the J product like on EY out of CGK? Emirates fly from memory that horrible config with 3 in the middle so avoid it.

Just looking into this again. The Ibis Styles is the other side of the city to CGK. You meant that you stayed at the Ibis Budget, which is close to CGK?

There seem to be at least 6 hotels within the airport precinct - anyone used any of them?

I'd be in abt 8pm and out abt 6am; absent a good one at the airport, the Mercure at PIK seems a reasonable choice. Anyone used their shuttle?

There’s an Ibis Styles AND Ibis Budget side by side. You can see the terminal from the better rooms.

I’d go with one of those for a 6am departure!

The PIK hotels would be better for a longer stay and need to fill in time - nice lunch etc.

There’s also the Anara at T3. Not stayed but highly recommended by others here.
