The joint venture is coming to an end August next year!

Move may wrest phone from wrist

ABOUT 170,000 phone users, including 23 with wrist-phones, will be affected by Telstra and Hutchinson's decision to shut down a mobile-network-sharing agreement in 2012.........Telstra paid $450 million at the time and then spent a further $1.2 billion building its own Next G network. Telstra says it will save $50 million a year by shutting down 3GIS. VHA also expects to save money but would not specify how much.
A roaming agreement for customers of the company 3 on the Telstra network will stay in place until 2012.

They already do, and fall back to Telstra GSM if all else fails, which it often does.

And roams onto Next G as well. I am with 3 and if they vanish to become Voda only I will probably move back to Tel$tra.
