without driving any noticeable increase in restaurant traffic?

I know I am but one person, but whenever I was heading out I always looked on Qantas Restaurants for a good deal. I didn't look on Dimmi, nor did I look on Open Table. Perhaps it was just under utilised, which is a shame because I over utilised it :p

The Rockpool system where the machine was broken at a brand new restaurant as I grizzled about last week :(

I'd have switched tactics immediately and said I didn't come with any cash as I intended to pay with my points, as the system allows. Bet the machine would have suddenly come back to life ;)

Made 2 bookings today but didn't receive a confirmation email for one of them (with 7 people). Hope it won't be an issue when we turn up and when the points should turn up...

Better check with the restaurant if they could see your booking. I think the points would be the least of your problem when you turn up at a restaurant without booking

Exactly what I do, and I earn more QF points from eating than flying :D

Points for my latest bookings came through. Took 6 weeks approx. Double points per the birthday promotion yet to appear though. But per the post above, looks like they come through separately a few days later.

If it was Dimmi’s idea to drop this I hope they realise that they will lose bookings. I have just made a booking for next week and would usually have booked through Qantas. However as I couldn’t book through Qantas I booked directly with the restaurant.

Usually when you book directly online via the restaurant website, its still using Dimmi as the back-end. So, unless you're calling up instead, no loss for Dimmi.

Dimmi has rebranded itself as TheFork. Not sure if they were before but now quite prominently stating it’s a TripAdvisor company.

They have been part of Trip Advisor for a few years. Not sure what is the change of brand thing, they have been using Dimmi for years, what's the point of changing to Fork?

It is like changing from Chet Faker to Nick Murphy. You have been known as Chet Faker for too long, yes that name is kinda silly, but it's too late, that's what the world knows you as, don't force people to remember a new name.

I snuck in booking for 6 of us on SAT 29/12.

Easy points to be had.

Looks like Dimmi (not The Fork) is having a promotion with some 50% off dining. I tried to log in with my old Dimmi account and it takes me to the Fork website and I remember using this overseas somewhere and it was cr@p then. It didn't recognise my email so asked me to register again and it won't allow you to register unless you tick the box that says send me restaurant offers

I just tried 5 seconds ago, I didn't have this problem, I am in now, and I can see my history back to 2017
