Emirates to axe chauffeur drive on award tickets

I need to cancel +1s CD which was booked pre March 1 (we will share a car)....as it is an award flight I can't access the CD booking anymore on the EK website. I guess I could ring EK but can't be bothered. Does anyone know the best way? eg email, chat to contact EK....otherwise 2 cars will turn up!
I’d tweet EK with a private message. Easy. Or wait until the call up the day before and cancel one then.

Cancelled via Chat...took ages to get on and a phone call would have been quicker!

I've never used CD before and when booked I didn't specify any particular time.... just left it at the Emirate default 3 hours prior to departure.

We are on a 6am flight from SYD next Sunday, so 3 hours prior to departure is an excessive time, and a ~3:30am pickup ( about ~35 mins to the airport) would would be better. I gather the CD service provider phones on the day prior to departure to finalise details... is this the time to change the pickup time, or do I need to cancel the existing CD booking and do a new one?

They will ring you the day before. I don't think you can change the default much more than 2 hours anyway.

So I'm having issues with the Emirates call centre trying to get clarification on this...(5 phone calls, everyone says something different, emails back and forth - can't speak to any supervisors etc) hoping someone in the AFF community can help!

I have a Qantas Reward booking travelling on Emirates in December

Hong Kong to Dubai in First
Dubai to Rome in Business

For some reason I cannot book a chauffeur service for pick up in HK despite all the others being eligible. I have read the Emirates T&Cs and feel like I am in the right here and should be entitled to this. Chauffeur bookings were made before March 1st cut off (Hong Kong pickup was made over the phone). Emirates basically stopped listening and said I need to deal with Qantas.

Email yourself the itinerary and it should be there. Why did you book over the phone though?

Pretty sure you needed to make the chauffeur booking before 1 March. Are you trying to make the car booking now?

They said they did it over the phone before the cut off. I’m not sure what’s up now?

Just to clarify - Bookings for Hong Kong need to be made over the phone and are for first class only. Every prior Emirates staff member has told me the booking should be eligible and they have emailed head office stating this, no issue with the timing of my booking and it is on record as being made on the 28th of Feb.

Today I was informed by the lovely Karen in the Emirates call centre today that I am not eligible for a Hong Kong chauffeur due to the fact it is a Qantas Rewards booking and I need to be on an Emirates ticket - although my other 3 bookings in Dubai and Rome are fine - despite also being Qantas Rewards.

Had a good argument over the T&Cs with her and got no where, basically told to go away and contact Qantas. Qantas couldn't help due to it not being a QF numbered flight so I'm now turning to AFF for advice. - I know people have had this service in HK before using Qantas Rewards so it's a matter of principle now!

Then tweet Emirates. @EmiratesSupport and see if that helps. The rewards booking is irrelevant if you’ve met the date terms and conditions and that the chauffeur is usually provided in HK.

Thanks - I've already contacted via facebook so will try the other social media avenues as well. I just wanted to check I wasn't missing something in the T&Cs before escalating further. Have been very disappointed with the customer service from Emirates so far.

Hmmmmmm, I have a conundrum.

I am looking to add some domestic US flights to my itinerary which has Chauffeur Drive confirmed. I'm wondering if I was to add flights, does this issue a completely new e-ticket and wipe the confirmed CD's? (which I then won't be able to book as it is post March)

Do they need to be booked with the same ticket? Why can’t they be separate. My builder taught me an expression the other day they use in the trade. The triple F. The meaning of which is one too many fiddles and you get a mess.

I was trying to keep them on the same tickets for the baggage, some of the domestic Y flights do not provide any baggaeg with the award redemption.

I have decided not to push the sleeping bear, we have changed hotels in Melbourne, and not game to make changes to the pick up. Thanks Pushka for the advice on emailing itinerary, just did that, and pick up is showing as confirmed. We can easily get the tram down Collins St from new hotel to old if need be.

Can confirm that after updating some flights in our booking (we're now only flying the return leg home in F with EK) that the CD is still confirmed for our flights departing EWR - which is a bonus as I thought for sure that it would vanish with an update to the booking!!:):)
