Hey all, just wondering for a J award or upgrade flight.

PER-DXB-LHR is 150k EK miles for a award but 240k QFF for PER-SIN-LHR.

With their new partnership, what would be the points redemption for QFF points on EK flights?

I would suggest in the short term they may stay as they are now.

There's are different earn/burn rates between BA and QF with their JSA.

Your guess is good as anyones but I can't see how Qantas will decrease the cost of the business class award as a result of the partnership.

What it costs in Emirates miles is irrelevant to the equation.

Wat about redeeming EK flights with QFF?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

One other question - Is the distance PER-DXB-LHR shorter than PER-SIN-LHR and would that put the award into a lower category?

Yes it is slightly shorter. It won't make a difference for award categories, except if you were travelling onwards from LHR back to FCO or VCE. PER-DXB-FCO/VCE just scrape into Zone 8.

That could be handy for Mediterranean cruise departures...

QF Partner award rates ... I guess ... Your guess, my guess are as good as anyone's ...
Having EK flights at partner award rates is a big fear for PER based customers. Currently, PER-SIN-LHR return is 224,000 FFP when travelling in J on QF. With QF gone from Asia to Europe, PER-DXB-LHR return will be 242,000 FFP when travelling in J on EK (assuming the QF code share awards will be very thin on the ground). ASA will also not be available as these have to be on QF metal. So PER customers to LHR will end up paying at least 18,000 FFP (more if you travel via HKG) for no real benefit at all. Why would I want to do that?
