Hi all

Im currently trying to book one way flights, CDG-PER on Emirates, in early August 2014, using QFF points. The reason its one way is because I have already secured PER-CDG flights in June 2014.

It would seem that emirates have not yet released any flights for August 2013, let alone award seats, and this seems a little odd given the usual timetable.

Im assuming this may have been delayed by possible changes in schedule etc, was hoping someone may be able to shed some light on this?

don't really want to come home on Cathay via HK.

Cheers

Why wouldn't you want to come home with Cathay? Better seat and service IMO. Although I guess the coffin seat from CDG is no where near as good as the new J.

Looking to pick up J seats, and the Cathay flight has a painful stopover in HK, so looking for EK.

I realise I will need to be quick, and hence Im haunting the website, but they have not yet released the flights.

Why is a stop in HKG painful? You have to stop somewhere ;) Better it be HKG with The Wing than DXB with a soulless EK lounge.

Ah ok, must have updated the aircraft to 777 since I last flew that route. In that case, Cathay will be far superior to EK IMO

Thanks to all for the feedback.

Its the 10hr stopover in HK im trying to avoid, have 3 kids in tow. I have nothing against Cathay, don't know much about their J service, might have to look into it.

That said, the J class points requirement for a 1 way seat is greater than EK (and I need 5) , and the EK Dubai stop is only 2hrs

but back on topic, still no EK flights CDG - DXB, or DXB - PER...weird

I would definitely look into CX J. I feel it is superior to EK in most ways. Also, to avoid a long layover in HKG, consider taking a train to London and getting the LHR - PER CX250/CX171 route which only has a 2 hr stopover in HKG.
