Emirates Delays/Cancellations

EK406, the Thursday 17 December 1000 hours midmorning DXB to MEL took off at 1157 with A388 A6-EOE. Gate arrival at 0724 will be 59 minutes behind the timetable.

For the fourth consecutive day, Friday 19 December 2025, EK412 from DXB to SYD and CHC (today: A388 A6-EVP) is significantly late.

It took off from SYD at 1148 hours with CHC gate arrival likely at around 1651 hours, 171 minutes late. -EVP's previous flight was from JFK to DXB that had an 0810 hours timetabled arrival in DXB but it arrived yesterday at 0855, 45 minutes late with EK412 being the 1015 hours. Even if the ex-New York City flight was punctual, 125 minutes seems to cut it fine to turn around an A380, let alone what tuned into 80 minutes (0855 to 1015).

The 1820 hours EK413 from CHC to SYD is on the cards to also be delayed, probably by at least 45 minutes.

On Saturday 20 December 2025, A359 A6-EXK arrived in ADL at 2102 hours, 12 minutes late as EK440 ex DXB.

However the aircraft must have needed engineering attention, as the 2240 hours scheduled ADL up to DXB did not take off until 0707 hours on Sunday morning, 21 December. This is the nightmare type of delay for passengers, as it's insufficient to enjoy proper sleep overnight even if an hotel was provided by the airline (perhaps unlikely), but lengthy enough to make a 'long night' for all, but especially older passengers and parents with young children.

EK441 should arrive on 21 December in DXB at 1353 hours, 513 minutes late, ensuing connections are missed. Let's hope there are spare seats to numerous destinations for the high percentage of passengers connecting to other flights in Dubai.

Christmas Day's 0255 hours DXB to MEL (A388 A6-EUW) is the 0255 hours DXB-MEL not airborne until the unattractive hour of 0359. Arrival at its gate should be about 2355 hours, 35 behind.

On New Year's Eve 2025, the 2145 hours scheduled EK416 from DXB was airborne at 2256 hours with A388 A6-EEH. Gate arrival on New Year's Day should be around 1924 hours, 49 minutes late. This aircraft normally forms EK417, the mid evening 2110 hours back to DXB that may be a little late in pushing back this evening.

Tuesday 2 January 2026 has seen EK414, the 0200 hours DXB-SYD with A388 A6-EVN not take off until 0407. Arrival in SYD is expected at about 2316 late tonight, 46 late.

The aircraft must have an approved curfew exemption for Sydney as there's no indication it's diverting elsewhere.

EK416, the Sunday mid evening 4 January 2145 hours DXB-SYD (A380 A6-EDM) took off at 2307 hours. On Monday 5, gate arrival should be approximately 1924 in the early evening, 49 minutes behind schedule.

For a second consecutive afternoon, storms in and around SYD on Monday 5 January 2026 are creating delays.

The Sunday 4 January EK415 (the 2145 hours ex DXB) took off at 2307.. On Monday 5 as at 1843 hours it was holding near Leeton and Barellan NSW, so expected gate arrival has become 1939 hours, 64 minutes late.
