Elite Miles - Have i been robbed?

Im abit new compared to laot of guys on here so my knowledge is limited, was wondering if i could get some help from you all.

Recently i became a silver member during a return trip from perth to LAX . I also had a return trip from LAX to cali in colombia on copa airlines in between. I reached silver on the leg back between tokyo and singapore. during my 4 hour lay overi received an email informing of my upgrade in status so on the final flight from singapore to perth within 24 hrs i had received my points and got the 25% silver bonus on that flight only. Fair enough. Now with the transfer of point from copa to krisflyer being abit slower being a partner airline. They have finally been credited today but belive however i havent actually received the elite miles. They are appearing on my statement with the krisflyer miles back dated to the date of the actual flight as per normal.

When i reached silver status obviously my elite miles reset to 0, my upgrade date was jan 15 and required by jan 15 2015 i needed the usual 25,0000 elite miles or 50,000 for gold. Now since the copa airlines flgiht was credited today i checked my points balance and i had received the actual krisflyer miles but not the elite miles? my elite miles remained only the balance of the elite miles earned on that leg of singapore to perth (my first flight since reaching silver) Now i have feeling this has got soemthing to do with the fact the flights on copa were before the upgrade and the backdating of them on the statement. But is this correct?

to me it seems like i havent actually received any of those miles? because when i was upgraded to silver kirs my elite miles were set to 0. Now finally the copa flights credited and as i said points got credited but my elite miles stayed the same even though X amount of elite miles appeared on the statement backdated to the date of the flights? II apologise in advance if i have this wrong but im a novice at this. Cold someone explain to me if i have been robbed of the elite miles or how this actually works befoe i call krisflyer. i have more flights to LA and south america soon that will probably just get me to gold but probbaly only if get these miles credited

I think the elite miles should be backdated to when you took the Copa flight, and as you reached silver afterwards, this is correct. However I will defer to those here who have better knowledge of the subject.

Its worth ringing krisflyer if you are unsure. They cant take any points off you. Before you ring, write down in chronological order the flights and dates and the date of expiry. Even if you dont get the elite miles you should get an explanation and a better understanding for this year.

Thanks for that, I will give them a call I think its the only way, ive been over and over it again and I cannot see how I have been awarded the elite miles, it got reset to 0 when I reached silver, then I have finally been credited the copa flights which have been backdated on the statement to the day of the flight. Krisflyer miles have been added to my account (on Friday the 7th) but no elite miles added to my account, still sitting at the 4,000 odd earned from the first and only flight taken since reaching silver. There for I have not been award the 10,000 or so shown on the statement from the copa flights.

So as I understand it, you should have reached silver earlier, and then your subsequent flights back to PER should have counted for your next qualification cycle.

yes well I don't know when exactly without searching in detail when I would of reached silver if the elite miles were added in before I actually reached silver upon landing in singapore. The problem has been caused by the slow-ness it takes them to credit partner miles/elite miles, inbetween taking those partner flights on copa having taken further flights on Singapore causing my status to go up. Elite miles set at 0. The flight from Singapore to perth then taken, awarded those miles and my elite miles balance ony showing miles from that flight.

The weeks later credited partner flight, backdated on statement. No elite miles actually credited into current balance. Effectively meaning no elite miles credited at all because the elite miles were set at 0 when i hit silver, partner flights not credited to after this and backdated on statement. Krisflyer miles however were credited onto current balance Friday.

I think the only difference may have bee I would of reached silver on the leg between LAX and Narita. If they had of been credited before I departed LAX (I think I would of been a couple thousand short before leaving LAX had they been credited so yes pretty sure between lax and narita I would of reached it). That would of meant I would of have had the elite miles currently in my account between Tokyo and Singapore as well as Singapore to perth. Yes meaning I have been short-changed in my instance

Best bet is to call Krisflyer services and politely hold your ground that you think you should get the elite miles credited if they say otherwise. If you have future bookings with them and they could foresee that you might make gold and be a regular customer it is in their benefit to give you a hand.

+1 for ringing Krisflyer. Before you ring, write down in chronological order the flights and dates and the date of expiry etc so the staff can easily follow your questions.
