Flying BCN-DXB-SIN (EK)/ and SIN-BNE (QF) (separate PNR's) in J with about a 3hr connection in SIN.

This is booked using QF points on the QF website.

QF have 'linked' my PNR's.

Is it likely there would be any problem with the EK check-in at BCN to check my baggage right through to BNE?

Anyone had experience with this? Is it normally an issue?

Should be no problems whatsoever with through checking at BCN.

QF "should" interline on separate tickets when you're using a combination of points and revenue bookings.

Even if you get a recalcitrant check-in at BCN and bags are not tagged through - it is SIN.

Go to a transit desk on arrival, show your tickets/BP's and they will pull your bags and transfer to your QF flight.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by QF linking both pnrs?

When you check at BCN the EK staff will only see your EK flights BCN/xDXB/SIN so you will need to tell the CSA you have a connection the next day on QF52 SIN/BNE so they can add in that separate flight as oncarriage in order to check your bags BCN to BNE and receive your EK and QF boarding passes.

When I checked in with EK in BCN 18 months ago the ground handler was Swissport so you could always Skype them and get that persons name in case you encounter any resistance at checkin. If you can't find the number by Googling call BCN Airport and ask them to give you the phone number.

Good tip - thanks OzBeachBabe. Last month I was connecting BCN-DXB-BNE, but was all one PNR and one carrier, so this one is obviously a little different.

I say two PNR to link becaise they are both QF issued PNR's (even though EK have a separate one for the BCN-SIN legs)
