I'm after some advice on the best way to book my upcoming flights as I'm looking to fly BNE-VCE--AMS-BNE with Emirates on a 380 from/to BNE and have the opportunity to use my EK points to upgrade Y to J at check-in if it's available.
I'm EK Silver with a lot of points to burn but I want to use my QF Plat number in the booking for future points earn, better seats and increased op-up chances.
So my question is, is there any difference or benefit in booking these flights with one carrier or the other? QF cost is $2,085 and EK cost is $2,082 for the same itinerary. I'll be flying on EK metal the entire journey.
Also, can I put my QFF number into the booking for status recognition and earn, but provide my EK details at check-in to spend points on an upgrade? Will this cause my QFF details to be removed and replaced with the EK Skywards details?
I hope what I'm trying to achieve makes sense, I look forward to your advice.
Thanks
