I've just rec'd email my return flt. qf108 jfk-syd is now on 330-200 and going thru. akl. I nearly felt like a very irritable person on arrival just getting to lax even beforeboarding flt. to jfk, what I'll feel like adding extra part of leg of akl, remains to be seen.

I will re-read hints of flying long haul, working on my attitude as I speak, still 10 days away.

Wonder what happened to folk who had booked pe on origianl 108 from lax-syd.

In Savannah, off to 'Lady & Son' restaurant shortly, will eat my woes away

Flying J or whY? Why not make sure you get SCs for the final routing

If you are booked JFK-SYD then there's no extra, even if the Aircraft does fly JFK-xLAX-xAKL-SYD.

Are you sure that QF108 is A330 all the way? It is usually an A330 JFK-LAX and then the aircraft continues as QF26 to AKL.

What date is the departure from JFK? You mention 10 days out, so assuming you mean departing 12, or 13 of December. Each of those days QF108 JFK-LAX shows on ExpertFlyer as A330-200 and QF108 LAX-SYD shows as 744 non-stop.

Ahh, when I counted on 10 days I was beyond Dec 11th. Indeed QF does show QF108 as operating via AKL on a A332 that day. Apart from the little diversion causing a later than planned arrival intro SYD, its not going to be much different for passengers. It does provide the opportunity to purchase DF in AKL at better prices than arrival into SYD.

Any idea why the trans-pac leg of 108 is being operated by the 330? Presumably still a hangover from the 380 issues, but I thought they'd rejigged the schedule to have a 744 for this flight??

No munitalP it's a 330.

And I did LAX-AKL-MEL in J a while ago on a 332 (at least for the LAX-AKL bit) and while the seat/bed was sloping a little it was ok.

Yeah, I posted that sitting at Williamtown, then boarded an A320 to MEL thinking, "I need to fix that post, 330, not 320..." but you beat me to the punch as I have only just arrived home

My wonder is that an extra 330 needs to get over there (so why is there not a corresponding flight Aus-US on 330 other than the existing AKL-LAX?)
