Got my first QF int J booking for a while coming up in Feb and thought I would pre-select my meal but the option is nowhere to be seen on MMB. Any idea why?

A few weeks ago i flew bkk-syd in qf j, preselected my meal few days out, somehow catering managed to load a different dish(wasn't even a menu item they stock) to what i ordered the crew were apologetic but managed to offer me the same meal i ordered as there were some left over.
Hopefully they do better for you

I haven’t used for a while — was very inconsistent early days but did get better. Not surprised to hear there are still some fails.

Only had one minor problem with Eat On Q where the small plate registered but the large plate didn't. It was resolved on board so no issue in the end.

I always use it and usually go for the online special; most of those have been far superior to the other choices (a curry on QF42 stands out in the memory, even the crew commented on it). If I don't order the special then I'll lodge a choice to ensure I have a better chance of having my choice available, although as a P1 I'm sure that wouldn't be a problem anyway.

More than 7 days out so that explains why. Booking is HKG-SYD on the A380.

The online special is usually a good option - when it just came out I remember getting something really good when booked in PE and all the passengers around me asked the FAs for what I was having and they had to explain the Eat on Q system.

Even the online special in Y can be alright. Had a duck l'orange to DFW which was, dare I say it, delicious!

Sadly there were no online only Y specials in my last two flights out of Oz, Japan ("lunch") in December and my imminent Flight to (Dubai) London ("supper").
