Regardless of Jewish dietary customs, ham melts and bacon baguettes is a pretty poor selection on a 4hr flight. Where is the healthy option?! :)

You could buy a sandwich and just eat the bun/bread/baguette.

Mistakes happen. At least they weren't left with the muesli....

On a serious note, I would say that someone mixed up catering because those two choices appear very similar and would normally be offered alongside a chicken or vege option.

4 hours without a meal is no big deal though, as the comments on the web link say some people go days without food.
