First thing, my credit card is a business card which does not accrue points and I have never bothered even noting my QFF number down on hotel stays so no, i don't expect the points.

There are a number of issues that everyone has side stepped, as with most forums, people veer off in all directions.

Thanks for your help anyway.

itsme_wrk,

Look at the posts from a group of people who are very knowledgeable on FF T&C and then tell us where people have been 'side stepping' the issues and 'veering off in all directions'.

These are people who will/do examine ALL the rules and will support you to the hilt IF there is something to support, however they don't, on this occasion believe you have a valid beef. Please explain further and people will go out of their way to assist. ;) :-|

With regard to your CC being a business card and not accrueing points. That is a personal decision which you have made and is not anyone's responsibility other than your own. Many people have business CC's (incl myself) and they are often a convenient way to attain many extra points.

Umm why dont you get points in hotels? It is perfect legitimate and a darn sight easier than trying to get points to which you arent entitled.

The CC may or may not be your choice - you might have a corporate Mastercard that cant accrue points which is your bad luck and a shame. I have a corp Amex that I paid the $80 fee to get points and so far have accrued 30K points. ENough for a round trip in J anywhere in Oz (noting NZ is part of Oz for this illustration). A sound investment to me :)

Noones given this simple explanantion.

You wont get more points or SC's because then you're double dipping. You're using points to accrue more points..see the problem?

I don't think that is good logic. Way back many FFPs did indeed do that. Combined with lower upgrade costs at the time, if you were clever it was possible in some FFPs to fully recoup the points used to upgrade through the additional earning of the upgraded class - truly a free upgrade. (Although you needed to have the points first.)

So the logic of your "explanation" isn't good enough. The reason you can't do this any more is the wording of the rules.
