Earn up to 110 Qantas Status Credits on the ground

Fuel and Cars might be a bit tricky if you aren't renting a car. BP rewards is doable if there is a promo later this year. For Uber only airport trips earn Qantas Points.

Finally, an offer that works well for people whose membership years start in October!

That's four adult tickets and a small popcorn nowadays, I reckon.
throw in a compulsory booking fee per ticket and you're getting close

yes, keep an eye on the various promos from BP - often a few hundred points or 2x, 4x. Swapping up to premium fuel a couple of times might be all that's needed

Excludes Qantas Points that are earned through the transfer of credit or charge card reward points.
Not only do I not get promo's for charge card points transfers, but they explicitly excluded it for this as well. QFF really don't want my Amex MR points.

This is nothing more than a gimmick promotion. It will be quite difficult, not to mention quite expensive, for the regular FF member to get all of these SC's.

And for a regular member who is not a status chaser what does it really serve? Hardly anything at all I'd suggest.

If you were a Gold FF teetering on the brink of Platinum it would be quicker, easier and cheaper to do a status run somewhere than to chase 20 or 30 SC's from this promo, or worse, to try and chase the full 110 SC;s from this promotion.

I wonder if Olivia would have approved of such a promotion in her time there? I doubt it. She is smarter than this.

I'll fall into "Utilities and Services" as I have just changed to red energy and should get 15K. Also, I will get some for my woolies rewards next month when I release 2 years of accrual into the Qantas Wilds ... so that's 30SC.

... however ...

This is all moot for me as my current booked travel will be more than enough for earning WP until late 2027 anyway. ... so will not be chasing.

(Although it should contribute another 0.04% of the required SC amount for life time WP)

I’ll earn 80 status credits doing literally nothing different. That’s a ~7% reduction on my WP renewal.

For those less engaged with QFF they’ll be able to do a couple of extra minor things to get more 10% of the way to SG.

I will get the 20SCs for CCs and10 SCs for EDR and maybe 20SCs for Utilities depending on how much electricity & gas I use and how fast the points post; I wont be changing any spending habits for those 50SCs.

Unlikely to earn in any other category, especially since Uber only earns on airport trips, if it was all trips then wouldn't be a problem.

It would be fascinating to see if Hoyts gets a sales boost because of this.
BP probably likely to as well. Not going to be taking ubers to the airport for fun - IMO uber is either the most convenient way to get there or its not, earning points doesn't change that equation for me.

This is where I think I'll end up:

Cards and Banking 20SCs YES
Insurance 20SCs MAYBE?
Utilities and Services 20SCs YES
Hotels and Travel 10SCs MAYBE
Fuel and Cars 10SCs YES
Food and Wine 10SCs YES
Shopping 10SCs YES
Health, Leisure and Entertainment 10SCs NO

TOTAL 70-100 SCs

On insurance - I wonder what the cheapest single person, single event insurance is from QF? Probably worth a look at if it's a bargain. For Hotels & Travel, I don't use Qantas Hotels and the like, but thought perhaps a transfer in from one of the named hotel partners could work. It doesn't appear to exclude this (except any earn from Accor).

The Hoyts one I might have been able to acheive if it was a few months ago as my son had a birthday party at the cinema and we could probably have done that at Hoyts instead of Event Cinemas, but otherwise impossible to spend that much on normal use in 3 months.

Cheers,
Matt.

Just signed up.

Cards and Banking 20 SC I will hit due to Titanium card.
Food and Wine 10 SC I will hit due to EDR

I just bought new iPhones/ Apple Watches, so could have hit the Shopping SC easily, but I don't think I will now.

So I guess I will get the 30 SCs. Better than nothing.

Unless someone can post a "hack" to get the others in the cheapest way possible lol.

The issue with trave insurance at least is that you not only have to buy the product but have completed the trip before the points credit. That can be hard in 3 months; as most people travelling over this peak period would have booked overseas travel and their insurance further out.

I have a QF TI policy for a trip Im taking in Dec but the trips ends on 1 Jan so I wont benefit. All my other travel before then is domestic so zero need for TI.

QF is poor value for other insurances I need like Health, Contents etc.

Also a TI policy to get 1k points without any promo, will probably cost you more than a domestic flight to earn the same SCs. so fine if you were going to buy anyway, but not something Id go out of my way to do.

I think Car insurance would be the easiest to do in terms of that category. In my case it does help when the renewal of the other car insurance comes around this time. As long as the comprehensive car insurance quote isn't too crazy at sign up then that might be the way.

The Binge offer is sneaky; the going rate for new customers on Binge is $4.95 per month; but to get the 1k of QFF points you need to join on a $19/$22 plan - who would pay 400% over asking for 1k points.

I would, if it counted for this offer in the entertainment section, being $2 per SC or so. But it seems to be hoyts only...

At the risk of Qantas shutting them down.
Exactly.

With no behaviour change, cards and banking (cc) and food (everyday rewards points banked) will come easily.

Fuel will depend on BP promos. Even if i swap to BP ultimate at 2 points per litre, not sure i'd need enough petrol before end dec to get there.

Have some ideas for completing hotels and travel and shopping with little effort but will see if they come through first.

On utilities and services - note that solargain took 2.5 months to credit points when i bought a solar system last year. So it will be pushing the 3 month 'grace' period - disappointing that the T&Cs absolve qantas of responsibility if points "fail to credit" in that 3 month period.
