Well, this has just hit my inbox within the last hour and I'm still breaking down the information - so here's the details so far:

  • Program is called A|Club Places
  • Uses Facebook Places check-ins
  • Participants can earn A|Club points and special social badges from their check-ins and visits to over 2,300 Accor properties worldwide

How to register

  1. Like the official A|Club page on Facebook: A|Club - A|Club Places | Facebook
  2. Once you've liked the page, press the Go button to link your A|Club account details to your Facebook profile, and permit Accor's A|Club Places application to access information from your Facebook account.

How to earn points

Once you have linked your account & authorised information access (see above) - use the Facebook application on your compatible phone or device, and using the Places or Nearby functions simply check-in at the Accor hotel you're currently at.

According to the graphics, points can be earned from visits to the following chains:

  • Sofitel
  • Pullman
  • MGallery
  • Novotel
  • Suite Novotel
  • Mecure
  • Adagio
  • ibis
  • All Seasons

How many points can I earn from check-ins?

Sorry, I don't have the answer to that question yet, the page doesn't share that information.

More info as it comes to hand, and there's no info on the main A|Club website as yet about it, nor the Accor Group website press section.

Just checked in. Guess they have to cross check I am actually at the hotel now before I see what points I get. Will keep you updated.

I checked in at one. Is listed as Awaiting on the status page.

Seems to be precious little doco on how the program is supposed to work.

Yeah, my issue with it.

Do you need to check-in as "public" for the app to recognise it? Usually you do for general check-ins, but being an App that has access to your check-ins, I'm not sure.
Are you supposed to be staying in a hotel when you check-in?
Can you check into multiple hotels per day?
How is a day counted? Which timezone?
What points are awarded?

I've checked in 3 times, none are awaiting, but no idea why.

It reads "Your account will be credited with bonus points, after having checked your aclub card number". As the app is linked with your card/membership number, this suggests to me that the check-ins are cross-checked against the hotel bookings for stays.

I had the same thought, although it doesn't say that anywhere. It doesn't say how many points you'll get, what you need to do to get the badges etc. Bit hard to work out.

I have checked into this a bit more, and it does seem that you have to be registered as a guest in the hotel to get the bonus points, and that the cross-check does happen.

(I wish they would just publish the T&C's somewhere!)

Yes, you have to be checked in to the hotel.
One "checkin" per stay counted.

Ok I buy it..... I have signed up but what do I do now? I'm confused but that's not hard for me!

Going to Novotel Singapore in March. Let me sleep on it.

Done it all but still doesn't quite make sense to me. I guess when I get to Singapore I will see.:?: I could not find any info on the AClub website. Very odd or just me being a lousy surfer.

Over week since I checked in during my first Accor hotel stay in Fiji. Nothing linked yet. Then again the stay itself doesn't come up on my summary, but the activity date does.

I cant check-in this app too. No one hotel w. A-Club

Please, everyone, need step-by-step Guide for this App.

My test check-in has disappeared, probably because I wasn't really staying there. Will try at my upcoming Accor stays.

Have never had a checkin register.

Sent from my GT-I9100 using AustFreqFly

I checked in at the Sofitel Chicago a week ago and the FB app is just showing That I've checked in but the status is "awaiting"

If it's anything like what I normally experience with getting points from A|Club, I will have to email them 5 times until they get it right.

I can't work out what you're meant to do. I've added the a-club app, but now what?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

When you stay at an Accor Hotel, just "check in" on Facebook to let the world know you are there. Ie, go into your Facebook page and near where you update your status click on "Checkin" - I think though you need to try and work out which is the official Accor location on FB as I tried at an Ibis and there were a few locations for that hotel and it didn't end up working)

You need to be actually staying there though for it to work

hope that helps
