This should be part of the handbook for flight staff... protect the needs of the majority!

It could give them a marketing edge if they were to offer it as an optional extra.
Some people would pay good money to be bound up like that by a Nordic FA.

Am I the only one wondering, what happens in an emergency?

I mean, with some cable ties, you could get them off if needed and still hobble to an exit, but in this situation, I don't think anyone would have the time to untie him.

They're meant to use plastic restraints (ie cable ties) and they can be cut off quickly in an emergency.

While this person was no doubt causing problems, they still have the right to be treated in the manner the crew has been trained (not like that)

Tape across the mouth should be SOP's for DYKWIA's

Best shadow ever? This would have to represent one of the best photo bombing opportunities period. Once a douche...

absolute classic - jetstar should put this in their SOPs...

Leave him behind. No one's going to miss another idiot in the world. Hopefully the seats on his row (middle and window) were not occupied.

If the reports are true that he was spitting at others on the plane, so he should be restrained in that manner.

No offense, but he was the one who got himself into the trouble, it is for him to deal with the consequences.

The other passengers and crew (majority) have the right to feel safe and not threatened by the actions of this lunatic (minority)

Yes, funny, but duct-taping the mouth of a drunk? If he threw up, he could be dead, and some passengers would face losing their houses.

Perhaps they had tried that.

We only have a picture to go on...

Not that I wish death upon anyone, but he should have thought of that before he started spitting at other pax and crew.
