Sure they have extra rows ? i felt fine and i am over 6ft, 120kgs and i found it very little different that SQ,QF,CX etc

Okay perhaps it was just my reaction after being bumped from from j to f on the syd hk leg.

I had mixed experiences on KA. The lounges are awful (but I guess once they join OW we can use good lounges) and I was badly done to with a mechanical - which made my whY flight less than fun (I did have three seats to myself though :)). The J flights around China were good but not memorable - a bit like CX-lite ;)

However it will make CircleAsia tickets much easier :)

I am looking at a Circle asia fare next year and holding off as Dragonair will certainly make it easier.hoping there is some sort of announcement soon.

Finnair use dragon lounge in HK, so last week used it to compare with QF lounge, on the whole similiar. I mean QF is sandwiches, biscuits and drinks, and 4 pc,s to fight over.
At Least at Dragon they had a lovely noodle bar plus a better variety of snacks.
However if comparing to CX both QF and Dragon are not in the race.

According to the OW site KA are yet to join? Is this the reality or are they just a bit slack at updating the OW site?

No, they have not joined yet. Was expected some time in 2007, possibly around august, but no news yet so could be a little while longer yet.

No KA flights that also have CX flight numbers that would help you ?
But i guess you have already looked in that in detail.

I like you hope soon they will join, i tarvel to China a bit so would be useful, also i like there service :) and the Hagan-Das icecream ;)

I think for a circle asia you need flight number and metal - like the DONE4 - no non-metal codeshares.

Dragonair is set to join Oneworld on 1st November 2007.

Dragonair - regularly named in customer surveys as the best airline serving China - will join oneworld® on 1 November 2007, the leading quality global airline alliance announced today.....
So we can now enjoy the CX lounges in HKG when flying KA (as well as earning points and SC's)

See press release...

Yipee indeed!!

I did note on the press release that OW boasts being the only alliance offering e-ticketing across all it's airlines in any combination. Rubbish I say!! On my Circle Asia fares, they have included JL flights which had to be paper tickets......well according to QF that is.

I suggest you read a little further. OW is to be all 'E' tickets in the near future. I don't recall the date.

4th last parragraph about OW in article reads....

It is also the only alliance to enable passengers to fly throughout its network, on any combination of carriers, using just electronic tickets.

I think it is June 2008.

This is great news though for my upcoming circle asia + PVG visit - more for the points than the lounge access (travelling J).

Thanks Simon, I guess "to enable" can mean in progress...

For me, I can use KA between CAN and PVG and also direct in and out of KHH (via HKG) instead of getting to TPE and then getting the train to Kaohsiung.

The last tick in the box for me will be when direct flights between Taiwan and China are rumoured to commence in 2008.

Great news, but unfortunately 1 Nov is 5 weeks to late for my upcoming trip to CTU on KA.

While not a circle asia fare, I have an upcoming QF and JL (and SQ for that matter) itinerary that was issued as an e-ticket, so there are combinations that work.

Flying Dragonair J class - do we get full status credits and points?

Cheers
