Double Status Credits Virgin Australia Activate by 10th Feb 2023. and Travel by 31st March 2023

had 2 trips during this promo

Sydney - Perth return for work March 1 and March 3), normal status and double status posted as soon as I landed in both legs

Sydney to Hobart via Melbourne return (March 18) normal status posted about 2 hours after flight no sign of double status, called up twice said it got escalated the second time, points posted yesterday.

DSC trip 20 Feb. Regulars posted promptly, doubles no. Called on 24 March (ie after the statutory month) - escalated. Still nothing today, called again. Agent noted already 'escalated'.

That's poor, very poor.

I'd email the plat team, nicely wording your dissatisfaction especially as a newly minted WP that's come across from QF.
I believe it's important to let any company know they've acted very poorly, visa versa I email on great service.

Well I'm still waiting for my DSCs from a 31 March flight despite calling a couple of weeks ago. These will push me into Platinum. No doubt when they do come through, they'll be backdated to 31 March and I'll miss out on an entire month of WP.

Since it’s now hit 4 weeks since flight taken, I got Velocity to manually add missing SCs from my March 31st flight this morning. Give it a go Matt.

EDIT: They’re now telling me I have to wait until tomorrow :(

I called up today before I saw your post. They also told me I had to wait until Monday and will call me back.

Surely somebody in Velocity HQ has noticed that no DSCs have credited for flights taken on 31 March and tried to fix it? Multiple people have reported this bug. Or are my expectations too high...

I did, but I'm still waiting for March 13th 2x credit. I sent is a web form query Tuesday.

Fortunately I have another 10 months to sort this out.
The SC's for the trip taken 13th March have finally credited yesterday.

Timeline:
  • Tue 11th: Submitted claim
  • Wed 13th: Auto Response "Thankyou - We aim to respond ... within 1 Business Day"
  • Fri 21st: Email Received: "We'd like to let you know that we are still waiting for an update to our relevant team. We'll get back to you as soon as possible"
  • Thu 27th: Email Received: "... we have now added the 55 Double Status Credits for the flight ..."
The webform I used was:
I used "General Enquiry" for Feedback Type" and "Earning" for the Category with "Missing Double Status Credits" as the subject.

Now to attend to my missing 110 SC from March 31st ...

After promising to call me back on Monday, someone from Velocity called me back today. They basically just told me that since it had now been more than 4 weeks since the flight, they would escalate it and I should receive the status credits in 3-5 business days. The lady couldn't allocate the status credits herself and had to put in a ticket.

Edit: DSCs finally posted Wednesday night.

Similar process initially - Submitted Claim for 2 x 55SC early Yesterday.

Change to process - Award Wallet notified me this morning my SC balance had increased by 110SC. No further notification. Logged on and they have been credited. Now only 333 & 3 SCs/flights to go before Feb 28th ...

Has anyone heard whispers of a planned Double Status Credits Promotion happening soon? I need to book tickets for my family's trip in mid-late January and am trying to decide whether or not to hold off. Does anyone know of history in DSC promos in January? TIA :) @Mattg

They wont release this information in advance. If you need to book flights for January I would be doing so now regardless of DSC possibility or not. Being holiday times its going to
Go through the roof price wise if it hasnt already

Virgin's last DSC promotion was in July and I'd be very surprised if they had another one before the end of the year. Agree with @MarkD that mid-late January is a high-demand period as everyone's flying home at the end of the school holidays: book now.

Does anyone who if there will be a another double SC promo soon?
