Glad to see this was picked up by some of you!

For those who haven't seen it, you can indeed earn Double Status Credit points by booking before 13 November 2011 and travelling before 31 January 2012.

What is great is that the Double Status Credits are eligible on all Virgin Australia, V Australia, Pacific Blue, Polynesian Blue, Etihad Airways, Air New Zealand, Delta Air Lines, Virgin America, Virgin Atlantic and Malaysia Airlines flights!

Might want to amend the website, its confusing Earn Double Status Credits| Velocity Frequent Flyer
This offer is only available to those selected by Virgin Australia and is non-transferable.

Ok guys, there appears to be some confusion around who is eligible for this promotion.

We would like to confirm that the current double Status Credits promo is open to all members.

Once again, please bear in mind the following qualifying dates:
Booking dates: 31 October 2011 – 13 November 2011
Travel dates: 31 October 2011 – 31 January 2012

Members must book and travel within these timeframes to earn double Status Credits.

I really have no problem with folks like you that intend to use the status match to genuinely change their flying habits. But I have heard of a number of passengers (including some travelling friends of mine) saying they will use-and-abuse the offer 'for those flights they are forced to take with VA', but fully intend to maintain their precious QFF P1 status. The sooner these users-and-abusers are weeded out, the better.

(Perhaps VA should review in 3-4 months and downgrade those that don't look like requalifying?)

What a narrow minded and spiteful view. You do know that it is possible to maintain status in multiple programs don't you?

Well, if there are some pax who have taken up the offer but not utilise it to the fullest potential that they can, then they are the losers. VA haven't expended much for the process of giving them Plat (come CS time, membership kit and postage); thus if they don't fly, then they will drop (can't remember whether a hard or soft landing).

But VA will continute to try and get them to change their habits and at least transfer a portion of their revenue to VA, who will then win. VA won't try and downgrade those members who might have a low SC balance, as VA have committed to a full year of status match in the offer. Use it, or lose it

So for those that didn't ge the second email, or for those confused by CS call staff, we have it from an inside source that EVERYONE'S A WINNER :D

Will there be a rush of bookings in the next 3 days - I think so ;)

Does anyone know, Does domestic PE still pay at J rates, I see a PE column, but domestic PE used to pay J rates.
It was previously mentioned on Velocity website, but appears to be gone now

Just a question with flights on partner airlines, when the flights credits to the account, how do you know what date it was booked? I'm just curious as I recently booked with DL and obviously after I take the flight they send VA the flight number, date, miles etc. Do they also advise what date it was originally booked?

Just bumping an old thread,
Apologies if this has been answered already, I couldnt find it but anyway..
I have a couple of PE bookings, which were booked in the correct timeframe for travel in the double SC timeframe as well. My question is, if I transfer the flights to another date (Also within the "Fly Between" dates), will I still get the double SC? or is it considered a new booking as the flights have changed, the PNR will remain the same. This was solely a Status run trip, but something almost unavoidable has come up, and want to know where I stand re double SC
Thanks in advance;)

Excellent question, I'm in a similar position, I changed my PER-MEL to a PER-SYD. Still flew in the correct timeframe, and like you the booking was made in the correct timeframe.

I can field that one:

so long as you CHANGE your booking (change the dates, even split a booking that was made for two or more people) and don't cancel and re-book, you'll be fine.

I generated 360SCs on Friday by bringing forward two OOL->MEL flexi fares I had booked on 10Nov for travel in Feb2012 and forked out for a PE upgrade (again, that counted as a booking change so the original booking date remained the same).

Go for gold.

Correct - all my doubleSC eligible flights were credited the same as all other SC credits (same time frame, just twice as nice).

Great, thanks for teh replies, I will go ahead and switch the flights, save my skin, and make the almost unavoidable event happen. :)

Got my first lot of pooled SCs from family pooling in today. (160sc)
Second lot should be in Friday, Red to gold in a week lol.

I went from 278 to 798 SCs over the weekend - I was hoping that would leave me with only 102 SCs to pick up to requalify gold - but, of course, the 298 SCs beyond the Gold qualification point were, in Velocity's view, earned before I was Gold. So unless I qualify for platinum (which, thanks to family pooling, seems likely) then those 298 SCs are completely useless, because my requal year started yesterday but those 298 'extra' SCs were earned on Saturday. A little frustrating to have the SCs disappear into no man's land - but good incentive to qualify for platinum!
