verdiblue, when did you receive that email? From my reading of it, seems that you may have received your offer a couple of weeks ago, so it is not the same as the current DSC offer released yesterday.

Edit: woke up and read the offer terms closely. That's an email to QF Business Rewards members and is only for double FF points, not the same as the general offer released yesterday which is double status credits.

To earn double Qantas Points, Qantas Business Rewards Members must (a) register their ABN and

Got my offer by email at 5.41am this morning, the same as everybody else's:

Ready to fly up and away? For a limited time you can take off with double Status Credits on eligible Qantas flights all around the world*. It doesn’t matter if you fly to Sydney or San Francisco, every eligible flight, domestic or international, will earn you double Status Credits.

Simply register and then make your bookings between 1 February and 5 February 2018, for travel from 12 February 2018 to 20 January 2019. You can enjoy this offer on an unlimited number of eligible flights booked during this promotion.

Hi crew -

these are the conditions I received - note that they are a bit different and the time frame for booking is not the same.

Looks like you have a targeted points promotion, not a status credits promo. The one under discussion in this thread is a general... i.e. not targeted to a specific frequent flyer. (But yay for double points too!)

Hi crew -

Important Information

*To earn double Qantas Points, Qantas Business Rewards Members must (a) register their ABN and book between 12.01am (AEST) 15 January 2018 and 11.59pm (AEST) 29 January 2018, and (b) travel on an eligible flight between 12.01am (AEST) 15 January 2018 and 11.59pm (AEST) 28 February 2018 (AEST). An Eligible Flight means a domestic or international flight which has a Qantas 'QF' flight number on the ticket that is purchased in Australia; is operated by Qantas, Emirates or American Airlines; has a ticket number commencing with '081'; and is booked and travelled for business on or after the date the business registers for Qantas Business Rewards. Exclusions apply. The bonus Qantas Points may take up to 8 weeks after travel has been completed on each Eligible Flight to be credited to your business' account. A business that has a Corporate Airfares or rebate agreement with Qantas; or is a travel agent, travel wholesaler, travel consolidator or other seller or re-seller of air travel, is not eligible for this offer. This offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other bonus offer by Qantas. Only one bonus Qantas Points offer can be used per individual qualifying segment of your itinerary. If you qualify for multiple offers, the maximum bonus points offer will be applied to each individual qualifying segment. Qantas Points are offered under Qantas' Terms and Conditions. Eligibility conditions apply. Qantas Points earned from air travel will be credited as a percentage of the value of a Bronze Qantas Frequent Flyer and will vary dependent on the level of the Qantas Business Rewards member. A Member's ABN and traveller's Qantas Frequent Flyer membership number must be quoted at the time of booking to earn Qantas Points for both the business and the traveller. A one-off join fee of $89.50 usually applies however this will be waived for any business that joins by 29 January 2018. Fees are inclusive of any applicable GST and may be varied by Qantas from time to time, without notice, in its absolute discretion.

Are we talking the same thing? Those conditions refer to a double points offer, not double status credits. Looks to me you have signed up for a different promo.

Even for a global offer like this DSC offer QF tends to target the emails rather than emailing everyone. But it's promoted on the website as open to everyone so anyone can register.

I haven’t yet received an email for the current DSC promotion. Also waiting for notification of last year’s ;)

Couldn't be happier with this one. Was just about to pull the trigger on a work trip to both UK and then US. This could be the year I make P1.

Question to the brains trust. Is my understanding correct that it must be the 'booking' and not the ticketing made during the relevant period? I ask because my itinerary was priced up confirmed (with PNR) yesterday (Jan 31), but ticketing will occur when I ask them to (by Feb 2). If so, will I have to cancel the current booking and ask the TA to book a again?

All help is appreciated. Thanks!

The important thing is the date of PNR creation.

I believe you'll need a new PNR. So cancel the current booking and book again.

Hi! My husband and I also received this offer but we have a dilemma. We have booked and paid a deposit for flights and the balance is due tomorrow. So the e-ticket has not been created, will we qualify for double s/c's?

If you've paid a deposit on a booking it's almost certain the booking has been created, in which case no you would not be eligible for this promo.

However if you can convince your TA to recreate your booking in a new PNR and honour the price (as discussed above) then that would work.

See bold:

This offer is valid when you register and make a new eligible flight booking between 12.01am (AEDT) 1 February 2018 and 11.59pm (AEDT) 5 February 2018 and travel between 12 February 2018 and 20 January 2019.

It's now been ~90 mins after 12.01am AEDT on 1 Feb 2018.

Yes, you are correct with the wording.

All I'm saying is that in the past with these promos people have had issues due to PNR creation dates being in UTC (or GMT if you prefer), which prior to 1100 AEDT today were 31JAN18 UTC and the systems did hiccup at this (ie: bad programming of the promo sweeps). It may well have been corrected since then, but I've been happy to hold off to avert issues some others have reported :)

...and it's now past midnight GMT anyway, so no reason not to register now :)

Really folks all the confusion here is as with previous ones, generated by poor QF wording, and they never seem to learn.

Remember the intent of these promos and it becomes a whole lot simpler to figure out what they're doing.

- QF put out these promos to generate more bookings/revenue in the short term (ie: 1-5FEB). Now yes, as we all know, there are ways to extend the magic, but for the average punter who this is aimed at it's purpose is to generate bookings and a short term cash flow to QF...

with that as a given motive for QF they do NOT want to make it overly onerous to achieve this... so people worrying about the fine print need to remember this. They WANT you booking!!

Simply they will give double SC on QF flights operated by QF booked.

All the confusions about "status bonus"(which is points, and nothing to do with SC's) is confusing, as is the text about not earning SC's on flight vouchers. That one has been in previous promos, and it seems clear they MEAN "just buying a voucher will not give DSC" which duh.. you have no flights on it so how can it earn anything when it's bought?

So yeah.. book QF flights and be happy :) (oh but register :p )

And as always, save any confirmation screens or emails as proof.

Dear oh dear. Is this ozbargain? We know what happens to ozbargained offers.

Hope a few can enjoy this time around. Luckily I have very few forward bookings. I was going to struggle this year and next but not now.

No, this won't be ozbargained away JohnK, as it's available to the general public via the QF webpage. But I'm sure that some will be made aware of the offer via ozbargain, rather than via email or if they happened to open the QF webpage and seeing it on the front page

RichardMEL, verdiblue may be able to get double points through their Business Rewards account as well as the DSC in their personal QFF account (that's the way I read it).

Of course, notwithstanding QF's desire to allow this...

Ah, that makes perfect sense then.

I was concerned it might be thinking to combine say a targeted +50% SC offer with this, which as we know does not work :)

Dumb question: Assuming it doesn't apply if I register now but have existing bookings? Any way around this?
