Double Status Credits 2011

It's interesting that this round of double SC is exactly 6 months from the last round in December '10.

Perhaps this time it's the remaining 1/3 of FF'ers who missed out on the last two around rounds who received the double SC offer.

Has anyone had 2 shots at it to ruin this theory?

This is my first offer in 4 years

Re: Double SC Promo

+1 to receive the email.

This is the first time I have received this promotion email.

Same here. I'm going to try and make the most of the offer as my travel has decresed significantly with a recent job role change.

Booked a YASA JASA to CBR combination to get 100 extra SC's

Even if I had received the offer it would have been of little use to me other than the additional 11 QFF points earned per SC via the "loyalty" bonus.

95% of my bookings are made 3 or more months in advance so they do not count and I already have enough bookings/travel this "year" for ~150% of WP re-qualification.

1. Did anyone who received the double sc offer in Nov/Dec 2010 also received today's sc offer?
2. Does anyone who received the offer today have a requal date after Sept?

As for me, I received it in Nov/Dec but not today.

+ 1
I couldn't benefit from it then, I could now, if offered.

If you are in TSV on a regular basis why bother with a OS trip to get WP, cash in 48K of QFF points + $200 and do a same day run to DRW as a JASA - 560 SCs is the end result of a long day flying, and if you do it on a Thursday you will get Skybeds for the the BNE-DRW return leg.
A cunning plan! I haven't looked into JASAs before much, have been preserving the points a little too much I think. So what's the itinerary? (PM is you like)

TSV-BNE-DRW - pretty simple.

Is there a thread or list of common JASA routings that have good SC yields? I've seen the CBR-SYD-HBA (I'm in CBR so works well for me) but wondering what other ones are out there that are commonly used...

Would be useful to know so when I'm travelling if there is a good one I can take advantage of it...

Personally, I think booking activity has little to do with it. Last year I was booked 3 to 6 months in advance. The premium desk agents all commented that I had the most bookings they'd seen, every time I called up. No domestic love for me back then. This year I've cut back to be booked barely 2 months in advance with only about 10 to 15 bookings made, still no love. I did get the December international offer at a time when I had 2 international bookings that made a complete return trip. (so the promo was useless)

I'd say qantas just target the people they think are most likely to book more flights, when they need to fill seats.

Would just say that I don't consider the December promo to be the same as this one as it was only for international. Needless to say I've only got the December promo, so I could be on a 1/3. But then my wife and mum have got no double SC promos.

I have a late theory, how many people who got the promo have told qantas they are a member of Velocity?

I'm thinking its probably geared around flight booking activity from my experience but there could be no real clear pattern to the offer going out
In what way? Too few bookings or too many bookings?

I have 21 confirmed and paid for bookings on my QF profile through to end December 2011. They would have a lot more except they are too expensive during June/July, September/October and December/January.

I should be one of the first people to receive these promotions but I suspect they are a) taking me for granted, b) membership year ends May 2011 and already have Platinum status thrrough to May 2012 and c) my bookings are usually booked 3-6 months in advance.

I will also have Platinum status through to May 2013 reasonably early in new membership year as I am trying to get Partner Gold for the 50,000 bonus QFF points, get closer to Lifetime Gold as I can sense the moving of goalposts on horizon.

I'd like to know this also

Well I got the email from QF and almost fell out of my seat. I had heard of such things but never had one addressed to me in all my years as a QF member.

Decided that I should take advantage of this offer and book a flight. This will ensure that I requalify for SG.

Would have been pointless, but fun to receive the offer, since I have 2,000 SCs worth of flights already confirmed during the offer period...

:)

Ummmm ..... why?

The whole point of this thread seems to be that no-one really knows what criteria are used to determine who gets these offers, and when.

I got the offer this time; have not had it before. Nice to get it, but I certainly haven't whinged in the past when others have got it, but I haven't.

Rather peeved by this. I received the email in my inbox exactly 5 hours after booking a SEA-LAX-SYD-ADL trip. No double credits for me! Oh Qantas, why do you taunt me so??!!

I received this offer :D

I had a conversation via email with hvr yesterday over whether I should push for gold before the end of May (need 310) or should I wait till June when my new year begins.

Luckily I haven't booked my flight to Melbourne in June so now I'm working out how to maximise this offer on that trip.

And Qantas have achieved their goal, I'm looking at some extra flying I otherwise wouldn't have done......
