Hey guys,

So I recently flew MEL > SYD > LA and my ticket was purchased while there was in DSC promo (i think in may?).

Anyways, I checked my activity statement and I saw that I got bonus SC for SYD > LA, but not the MEL > SYD route, eventhough it was 1 booking and was pretty the option listed when choosing the flight. I had a read of the screenshot I made when I purchased, and it says "You're on your way to earning double Status Credits on eligible Qantas operated international flights with a QF flight number."

Is this a mistake on their end, or just a dodgy way of Qantas to make people assume they'll get double status credits for the total SC listed when purchasing the flight, but in fact it's only on the international leg?

Anyone fell into this trap before? Kinda gutted because I bought 2 business international flights, hoping to get platinum and now It seems I'll be missing some status credits.

Yep, sorry to confirm bad news but I did a CBR-SYD-DFW-CLT and back trip in June and got DSC for just the intl leg. Not for domestic in oz or US.

Time for a domestic status run if the sale now on is not already too late...

I absolutely scoured my email and all the * > caveats.... but they are also refusing to credit me for the domestic connecting leg to my international flight saying that its for international only.... They won't credit a QF numbered codeshare flight either but I half expected that.

Bizarrely, the first reply said, sorry its only for international flights, but just wait for 6 weeks and your points for QF312 will be credited. When I emailed again after 6 weeks they said "sorry its not a qantas operated flight"

So in reading their conditions (below) neither of those cases seem to be clarified. What else can i do when trying to work out what the promotion covers?

^An eligible flight for the purpose of this promotion means any Qantas marketed and operated flight with a QF flight number on the ticket where Status Credits are normally earned. Qantas Points and Status Credits are earned in accordance with the Qantas Frequent Flyer Program. Please also see the Airline Earning Tables. Qantas Points and Status Credits may not be earned on some fare types and booking classes including Classic Flight Rewards and Qantas codeshare flights operated by Jetstar, Jetstar Asia and Jetstar Japan other than in Economy booking classes Y,B,H,K and L (when booked as a part of a oneworld®, fare). Qantas Segments booked as part of a Points Plus Pay - Flights booking. To be eligible, Corporate bookings must be through an Australian registered travel agent.

It clearly says Qantas Marketed and Operated flight. So that is one part clarified.

Would need to see the rest of the promo to comment on doemstic versus internationl

I have this DSC coming up for my trip in December. I think it was pretty clear that it is for qantas operated, qf flight numbers and international legs only. Therefore Mel - Lax is all i am expecting to receive double for, even though ill have domestic legs on both ends.

I used this May 18-22 offer too and got DSC on only the international legs as expected. The quoted T&Cs above doesn't have it but my email says in part:

An Eligible Flight for the purpose of this promotion means an international Qantas operated flight with a QF flight number on your ticket where Status Credits are normally earned.

The promo also clearly said eligible Qantas operated international flights. So neither a mistake nor misleadingly dodgy but perhaps some shrewd marketing to push you to get that expensive international ticket. Lesson for next time maybe when calculating the SCs needed for your goal (something I check and recheck).
