Re: Double status credits 2/3/17 - 6/3/17

So has anyone flown any sectors using this year's offer yet?

Re: Double status credits 2/3/17 - 6/3/17

That's not good news. I'll be doing my bookings today, so I'll let you know how I go. I'm a bit disappointed that Business Rewards only give a paltry 5% (for my tier) whereas from memory, I used to get 10% for J bookings under Aquire. Still 5% is better than a poke in the eye, but I don't have an answer for what you are seeing.

I'm pretty sure the % off is on the normal fare excluding gst - so it will never actually give you 5 or 8% off the standard price.

Some fares before the change didn't have the Aquire discount available, not sure if they all do now

SWMBO and I both received emails from QF promoting the offer.

I had already registered via home page. I did receive a confirmation email

SWMBO registered by clicking through on the link in her email. She did not get a confirmation email.

Same think happened to me and MrsTMA. It's right up there with the usual Qantas IT competence. Suggest she needs to do it again. It's not the click-through that's enough (IME). One has to select the link on the page again and it will take you to a page where you enter your FF details. Then it sticks and you will receive a confirmation email. Better safe than sorry. No email then you have no proof you registered.

It seems like registering via the email link does not send a confirmation whereas using the manual form on the website does.

Using DSC to get to Gold.

I would like to take advantage of using the current QFF DSC offer to get both my wife & myself to gold. We are both silver, she needs 385 SC's member expiry 30/4. I need 315 SC's to get there, member expiry 31/7.
Can anyone offer suggestions/advice for us to get there for the most competitive price ? (This would be the 1st time we have been able to achieve gold, so near yet so far !)
Thank you in advance.
Stroudie.

Re: Using DSC to get to Gold.

Do you always fly together? If yes, then only one of you needs to get Gold. Then they can guest the other.

Oh and your location helps to provide advice on flights that may be suitable.

Badly designed web site.

Once I followed the login procedure, we then received confirmation emails. Bit of an issue if you do not get a confirmation since you would have no proof that you registered. "Arguing with QFF on the phone in August that you really did register." Good luck:)

Re: Double status credits 2/3/17 - 6/3/17

Speaking of Aquire / QF Business Rewards. Is it just me or the whole 5%-8% off a bit of a lie. Im trying to book SYD - CHC in J with DSC but its only giving me $50 off out and $7 off back.
Last i checked $57 is not between 5-8% of $1680. Yesterday couldnt do the search, today not even full discount.
I was thinking about doing full J on the return leg since the discount would have helped. But the full J fares dont even have a discount. DSC planning is not going well.

Correct. The discount only applies to the base fare, not taxes or airport fees etc.

Hmmm. not sure that makes sense. GST is a fixed percentage levied on the goods. 5% off the goods will also give 5% off the GST.

I think you mean it is 5% off the base fare but not government and carrier surcharges (which attract GST).

But i'm being pedantic :p

Re: Using DSC to get to Gold.

And there's a lot of ideas in the DSC offer thread instead of posting in a separate thread that might get overlooked.

Re: Using DSC to get to Gold.

Sorry, yes we usually fly together & would fly out of Sydney.

They don't change your pnr they just create a new pnr for the other person and then link them. You can separate pnr's but not the reverse.

Could I call and insist they create a new PNR with the new passenger (so... I can manage the booking myself?)? Are there any other 'transactional' things that would result in a new PNR being recreated by paying the change fee?

Thankyou, I thought I had registered, but I didn't receive confirmation, so after reading this, I registered again and received a confirmation email. Thanks again for bringing this to my attention.

You could try but I don't think it works that way. You never know.

So Quick Question, I've got a number of flights to book which I'm now planning on paying for now prior to the 6th, If the dates etc are slightly wrong and they are edited at a later date would this then remove the DSC?
I did get caught in the past when I altered the flight after the close of the DSC offer period and it did negate the DSC. I even rang to check and it was confirmed that the change of flight meant no bonus points

That worries me. I still have 1 booked for April and I had to move it. But i moved it within the promotion dates and it is a full J ticket. Hopefully it all works out in april.
