Re: Double status credits 2/3/17 - 6/3/17

Slightly OT question in regards to gift vouchers. It says multi city is excluded. Does that mean when I redeem the voucher I will only see direct flights? For example only BNE-HKG but not BNE-SYD-HKG?

vouchers are a separate issue to this thread.

however, if BNE-SYD-HKG is offered up as an option under the search you can book it.

You can't use vouchers to explicitly specify multi-city routings, as per the tool on the website.

Re: 2 x SC for all! (Book by 6th Mar, Travel Mar 17-Feb 19, '18)

SWMBO and I both received emails from QF promoting the offer.

I had already registered via home page. I did receive a confirmation email

SWMBO registered by clicking through on the link in her email. She did not get a confirmation email.

Yes, I am aware this has nothing to do with DSCs and apologies for being OT. I am just wondering if multi city options do show up when redeeming a voucher - I don't have one so unfortunately I can't find out.

Re: Double status credits 2/3/17 - 6/3/17

Multi-City is used for booking stopovers. You can't do that with a voucher.

So you can't book BNE-SYD stay in SYD a few days then fly onto HKG using one voucher. Using a voucher you can fly BNE-SYD then a few hours later onto HKG if such an option is available for booking.

I'd look at what you can book using a standard search with no multi-city. Most/all of those options should be available when redeeming a voucher.

I booked MEL-BNE-CNS return using a voucher last year and flew all legs on the one day.

Thanks! That was the answer I was after.

Re: Double status credits 2/3/17 - 6/3/17

Denpasar for 1803 in J return would be 480 points looks to represent a good option

Re: Double status credits 2/3/17 - 6/3/17

Ain't that the truth. And the reality for many of us is that having a small window (Monday night) to book trips we may not yet be 100% about is a tricky one, we need to know the fine details! Last year I booked flights to NZ during the DSC promo, then weeks later when a J sale popped up paid the difference but only after ascertaining for sure whether the DSCs still applied. Devil's in the detail....

Basalt - did you book the flights as Flex Y or lower? If lower, did they charge a change fee for paying up to J?

Thanks.

Re: Double status credits 2/3/17 - 6/3/17

Can anyone tell me WHY vouchers qualify, is it in the T's and C's or it been verified by staff ?

Re: Double status credits 2/3/17 - 6/3/17

pandaflyer last year I registered for the promo, then bought a voucher and promptly used it to book a return trip MEL-BNE-CNS in J.

I saved the credit card fee, got my points for using my credit card and got the DSC.

thanks for that, although is there any T and C line which supports it

Re: Double status credits 2/3/17 - 6/3/17

Not quite identical. Last year the allowed codeshares were AA trans-pac. This year it is Emirates Trans-Tasman.
Very close to last year. It's not the changes that are being discussed. The same things discussed in last years thread are being discussed over and over again in this thread.

Some things do not need to be discussed this way in an open forum. This is why we lose things.

Pretty sure they don't make decisions based on comments here but by behaviours.

It was booked Y sale, so yes I had to pay a fee, $100, IIR. It was worth it as it got me to SG for the first time. Without it I would have been about 240 SC's short.

Re: Double status credits 2/3/17 - 6/3/17

So using the Aquire discount would still receive the DSC's?

Re: Double status credits 2/3/17 - 6/3/17

Dont see why not; its just a QF booking done via the business portal.

DSC is based on QFF registration not the ticket price. It worked last year.

Thanks for the confirmations. That was my take on it as well, but the only memory I had of it working last year was with the 50% additional SC offer that was part of Aquire rather than the QF DSC offer.

Speaking of Aquire / QF Business Rewards. Is it just me or the whole 5%-8% off a bit of a lie. Im trying to book SYD - CHC in J with DSC but its only giving me $50 off out and $7 off back.
Last i checked $57 is not between 5-8% of $1680. Yesterday couldnt do the search, today not even full discount.
I was thinking about doing full J on the return leg since the discount would have helped. But the full J fares dont even have a discount. DSC planning is not going well.

That's not good news. I'll be doing my bookings today, so I'll let you know how I go. I'm a bit disappointed that Business Rewards only give a paltry 5% (for my tier) whereas from memory, I used to get 10% for J bookings under Aquire. Still 5% is better than a poke in the eye, but I don't have an answer for what you are seeing.
