Re: Double status credits 2/3/17 - 6/3/17

Awesome Qantas Business Rewards keeps coughping out on me.
Searching for SYD - CHC in J. It starts searching and then returns to the search page again. Im hoping to get that level 2 7% discount so i can get a slightly cheaper status run.
Picked some other random dates and finally got an error of "An error has occurred in our central database. Please contact us for further information. (4002 - 10002)". Then i cant even go to the next page to select flights.

Somehow i think QF are doing this on purpose so i cant get my double status credits at a cheaper price. Its like it is goating me to paying the full price.

Re: Double status credits 2/3/17 - 6/3/17

There's also the following option:

MEL-BNE-DWR in J 140x2 = 280 $1069
DWR-BNE-MEL in J 140 x 2 = 280 $1069

Long day though. 6am leaving MEL and getting back at 9.25pm with only a 40-minute turnaround in Darwin.
Yeah that's too long for my liking. It takes me quite a while to get to/from the airport which makes it an even longer day so personally I'd go for the MEL-BNE-CNS route if doing it all in one day even though the return isn't quite as good as going MEL-BNE-DRW

75-min trip to MEL for me and that's on a clear run in traffic. Would the same aircraft be used for return leg to BNE? If not, the scope for missing the return is high even with a short delay and there's not as many flights back to MEL like there is from BNE or SYD.

Re: Double status credits 2/3/17 - 6/3/17

Yes for BNE-CNS and CNS-BNE the flight number should be about 1 different and there should be about 40 minutes between flights.

You might want to allow more time in BNE to not miss the flight back to MEL. Assuming it's all on the one booking if you do miss a connection due to the plane running late they do need to rebook you onto other flights.

Re: Double status credits 2/3/17 - 6/3/17

I'm desperately trying to ignore this but my addiction is getting the better of me!

Has anybody got any ideas for a run out of Perth that isn't outrageously expensive? Something under $2k could work and as quick as possible. I'm thinking I'm going to need to earn about 350 SC's to retain SG for another year. Not sure it's worth it to be honest but I love the thrill of the chase! Last year I did a MH run that was reasonably priced and I was chastising myself for missing the DSC last year. Even with DSC though I'm not sure the value is there out of Perth. Thoughts?

Cheers.

PER-xBNE-CNS-xSYD-PER for $1015 in Flex Y, 280SC or $3.63 per SC.

Red-eye out of PER so no accommodation needed. Then you have an extra grand to find 70SC! Should be pretty easy :)

Good to her. This time in 2 weeks I will be a newly minted WP. First time. Does that make me a
Nope, its a DYKWIA.
You can now stand in the premium boarding lane and glare at any one who dares put their idle foot into our "special zone".
I also am SG up to end of Jul 17. Then back to PS.

Did anyone/does anyone see the ^^ in the email.
DSC based on flexY rate, and not on J if we choose to fly J on the DSC fly period.
I got no email.

Edit: A friend's email does show a ^^, but that's for the points status bonus. Nothing to do with DSC.

What's a Dootch? (LOL)

Its a well known naturally formed moat which no longer prevents the pilgramage of Jandal wearing Kiwis armed with Chillybins full of Paua meat.:p

Might be a dumb question, but if you book through business rewards can you still get the double status credits deal with the 7% discount?

DSC based on flexY rate, and not on J if we choose to fly J on the DSC fly period.

It refers only to the status bonus, not the status credits earned on the flight:
^^ The Status Bonus is applied to the actual Qantas Points earned when travelling in the Economy cabin. For travel in premium cabins, the Status Bonus is applied to the Flexible Economy earn rate.
Becuse it follows on from this:
Earn enough Status Credits and you could enjoy all the benefits and privileges of Platinum Status. This includes the opportunity to earn a Status Bonus[SUP]^^[/SUP] of 100% more Qantas Points on eligible Qantas and Jetstar flights, complimentary access to lounges around the world including Qantas International First and Domestic Business lounges[SUP]~~[/SUP] and much more.

Sorry to be blunt Poochie, but you really need to read carefully and listen to what others are saying. The condition is

^^ The Status Bonus is applied to the actual Qantas Points earned when travelling in the Economy cabin. For travel in premium cabins, the Status Bonus is applied to the Flexible Economy earn rate

Status Bonus is NOT Double Status Credits. It is a bonus serving of Qantas Points (NOT Status Credits) depending on your status tier.

More information on the Status Bonus is available here: https://www.qantas.com/fflyer/dyn/flying/tier-benefits

I did last year. But currently when i try to search with business rewards its coughping out on me. So if you can i suggest you do. Im currently checking if my TA can use the programme to book for me so i can get the discount and likely no credit card fees.

Yes, Pushka, I do realise/realize you are already QF SG.
For the Theweselsteve, while I am not married and don't have any SO, my other relos just don't get me (understand) my urge to keep flying to many times a year.
Thats the thing with Asian families, keeping money under the mattress is of most importance than spending money flying around.
For Shor, ah, I see. Ok, I will now go back to my dog box with my tail between my legs.
