Special Thank You For Elite Status Members
We want to say thank you to our loyal customers for standing by us. So starting November 1st, every AAdvantage[SUP]®[/SUP] elite status member can earn double elite qualifying miles and points, and double miles until the end of the year.
Well, here is my current situation, we decided to have a small holiday in SJU for a few days, just happens that I have booked three looping flights LAX-SJU the long way round while the family rests at SJU (part of the trade off for this crazy status flying that is done at times).
One round flight is 9200 miles for 366 dollars, means that the three flights would have been worth 27, 600 qualifying miles, plus anohter 27,600 miles as status bonus. Means that the airfares cost me 1098 dollars, for 55200 miles.
BUT WOW! after this email arrived from AA this morning.
with the double mile bonus means that for 1098 dollars now getting 82800 miles, and ALSO 27600 qualifying miles already for the next qualifying year.
over 80,000 miles is off peak anywhere from Europe, stop over in the USA and to anywhere else in the US, Canada, CA and Carribean and back to Europe (again with another stop over in the US) TWICE for about $250 taxes.
Means that for about 1350 I am getting all of the above PLUS saving considerably on qualifying for EXP the next qualifying year, just over 70,000 qualifying miles and not the 100,000.
Well done AA
