Don't let a delay ruin your holiday

No it is when you have your ball plugged into the face of a greenside bunker and you give the shot a bit more. The ball comes out easily and lands in the water on the other side of the green. That is when you know someone is watching.
That's just a bad shot right? ;)

I have played golf with a friend for close to 35 years. He is one of the luckiest people I have met. One day at Liverpool golf course his ball was heading out of bounds or into water 5 times and each time the ball hit a tree and landed in middle of fairway.

Today I had a golf ball plug in the face of a fairway bunker on the 7th hole. This is a very rare event. I have had it happen multiple times but never witnessed anyone else come up against the same situation.
That has happened to me ... it's "Golf" and so be it.

Worst was at Twin Waters where my ball can to rest 2" under the rim in a footmark caused by someone climbing out and not raking the sand afterwards.

I know there are times where it is hard to schedule in such delay margins, but it certainly makes things a whole lot less stressful when it can be done!
Yes, better to spend 24 hours at an airport waiting for your boarding call than racing to the gate in the hope the doors to the airbridge are not closed.

Being able to sit out a delay in a lounge generally makes things a little more bearable (except of course when it is Qantas cancelling all of their flights and you need to run out of the SYD domestic J lounge across to VA to get a ticket back home).

Sounds like you had a good trip. Things will go awry so you had some buffer.
