You want to ring the ATW desk in Dallas morning US Central time not our time, which means around midnight AEDT. +18002473247 - get them to organise the itinerary for you. Call back 2-24 hours later for the fare. The quote and ticketing instructions ("PQR") will remain on your reservation for 7 days - if you don't contact NRT during that time you'd have to call Dallas again to set up another PQR. They are allowing you to hold your booking for 6 weeks now (3 weeks previously).

Don't get AA NRT to build the itinerary etc for you. Get the local stations to do as little as possible - ONLY liaise with them to issue the ticket. Trust me on this one. ;)

Same goes for ex JNB? AUD6.2k for a DONE5 seems rediculous!

Is there anything to wach out for? The only thing I can think of is as I live in PER, getting to JNB at the end will be a bit hard as QF302 will not be allowed on the ticket.

How did you notice the taxer where wrong?

[/stupid hat]

They got the base fare wrong - I was fared for an AONE4 instead of a DONE4. The difference was substantial and very much noticeable.

That makes sense :)

Yes - especially if the local office is a General Sales Agent, which is what AA CPT is.

AA CPT requires at least one overwater segment on AA, or at least an AA coded flight. Plus they're located in CPT and not JNB so if you're planning on going to JNB () you'd need to make sure it's eticket.

As for the routing - you could use your SWP segment allowance to get to SYD, have a short little holiday there before heading back over to JNB. Or you could reverse the whole thing and go Africa > Asia > SWP > North America > Europe > Africa.

I assume AA137 would do with a borrowed EVIP to F?

Once in LAX (or any USA city) I can re ticket the extra 4 sectors?

What if it was purchased Pre IATA change and I wanted to Reticket Post IATA change?

Yep. They should also be featuring NGBC on that route pretty regularly if you don't feel like borrowing.

Or anywhere with an AA ticketing location. Simply set it up with the ATW desk before fronting up at a ticket desk/office.

Pre IATA change rules should prevail. They could run into trouble with regulatory authorities if they force retrospective rule changes.

I think the oneworld rep on FT did mention that the pre IATA change rules will be honoured for any tickets issued prior to the change.

There is such a god? perhaps we should pay him/her a retainer to joing this IMHO higher S/N ratio board.

Thanks QF009,

I really appreciate all the help you guys are giving.

Can i just repeat the steps so I know that I have got it right.
  1. Create the itinerary and check for seat availability.
  2. Ring Dallas AA and get them to put it in their system. They will give me a PQR number (I assume that is used for tracking the booking).
  3. Call Dallas Back and get the fare (is this step necessary?)
  4. Ring NRT AA and give them the PQR number and tell them that I want to pay via Credit Card.
  5. NRT will eTicket it and all I need to do is print it out and get my award one way from BNE to NRT.
Is that right?

Thanks Again

Mathew.

Just one change - I would consider booking the award first given that there is less likely to be award availability to NRT than D availability onwards from that.
