BA lounge staff are actually OK if you explain you have just ticked over. They can check the back end' and manually update your One World status.

BA can take 2-3 days to credit especially if over a weekend so near that it mind if you are waiting for the last flights to be credited......

CARRY ON ALLOWANCE QUESTIONs:
This is my first DONE 4, in fact first time any distance in J (apart from a surprise op-up BNE-LAX in 2007 from an O-fare!), so forgive the newb questions. Rather than start a new thread, some questions on carry on luggage for this trip: I've checked the AA,BA and CX sites which say I should only have one 45 inch bag as carry on (plus smaller laptop/handbag )

I'm planning taking two 45inch bags. I can have those as carry on for MEL-LAX with QF:

a) would I have to check the second for BNE-MEL (it's a 0555 flight...),
b) how strict are AA in A for the other US legs? I'm most concerned about the BWI-DFW-SEA- DFW (45 min turnaround in SEA) when I'd prefer to have both bags as HLO....
c) Will BA allow two 45 inch carry on bags transatlantic, or within Europe (could leave 2nd bag in Heathrow for the LH-MAD-LHR rapid turnaround side trip (2hr turnaround in MAD, unless I can get earlier).

BNE-MEL(QF)-LAX(QF)-DFW(AA)BWI (2 days in DC)
BWI-DFW-SEA-DFW (all on AA, then overnight in DFW)
DFW-MIA-LHR-MAD-LHR (all on BA, then 1 day in London)

LHR-HKG-BNE I'll check one bag, but for future info would CX allow two 45 inch in J?

thanks

I may be mistaken but since the advent of 16 segments instead of 20 and the restrictions on DFW-ANC, I don't think it's possible to get greater than 2000 SCs in one DONE4.

I did DFW-ANC-DFW with AA as part of a DONE4 in 2009. Has something now changed with this?

Rule 4 (l) of the oneworld Explorer states that only one flight to ANC and one flight from ANC is permitted. I think this is a reasonably recent change to the rules. Prior to that it was possible to utilise the NA segments by flying DFW-ANC-DFW more than once.

The single ANC to and from rule certainly existed in 2004, so not new ...

thanks for clarifying the ANC thing, but can anyone help with my Carry on luggage questions? thanks

Carry on allowance is as per the operating carrier rules and/or overriding regulation.

i.e, USA DOT permits no more than one 'carry-on' bags and a 'personal' item - irrespective of booking class.

So While Qantas may permit 2 x 7kg bags for it's international business class customers, this is further limited for flights to/from.within the USA as per DOT regulation.

Last month in the USA I was traveling with 2 x roller hand luggage. I was twice stopped and they started to tell me I couldn't have 2 until they saw I was OWE traveling in A class. Once was ORD-DFW. The other was DFW-NRT
