You cannot do both LHR-ATH-LHR and LGW-VAR. See this rule restriction:
Code:
NOTE 1: NO MORE THAN 2 FREE SEGMENTS BETWEEN THE
    U.K. AND:

      ALGERIA ARMENIA AZERBAIJAN BAHRAIN BULGARIA
CYPRUS EGYPT GEORGIA GREECE IRAN ISRAEL JORDAN

SYRIAN ARAB REPUBLIC PORTUGAL TUNISIA UNITED ARAB EMIRATES
      UKRAINE YUGOSLAVIA SERBIA - CROATIA
Since BA is the only OW airline that flies to/from VAR, you can't even ude AY via HEL or IB via MAD/BCN as can be an option for some of the restricted countries.

Unlike some other RTWs, on an xONEx there is no backtracking restriction per se. However there may only be one trans-atlantic and one trans-pacifc crossing and also only one crossing between (europe/africa) and (asia/southwest pacific).

So SIN-HKG-AKL is fine.

That's the oneWORLD Planner© for you...

I haven't used that tool, but the *A RTW Mileage Calculator tool is also a bit buggy - indeed there is a thread on FT devoted to known bugs of that tool.

OK, I am hoping I have nailed it now. Can anyone see a problem?

Is there a easy way or working out the QF SC earn on this?

Kiwi FLyer, I don't believe that to be the case; you can stop over at the same place more than once. AFAIK the only limit to stopovers is within a "continent", in this case 2 in SWP, 4 each in EUR, N/A & Asia.

Having said that, I believe it is a good idea to avoid LON stopovers (& UK F/J departures in general) due to a hefty Levy of £40/£10 each time.

Thankyou so much everyone for all your help. The information has been truely valuable. Sending this off to my travel agent to book through AA (save on fuel fines).

Looking forward to making it to Gold by the time I get to LHR (the first time). Also looking forward to QF Plat on me return. Until this year I have never been anything other than Bronze (White in the old scheme) or QC Bronze.

As Serfty points out, on a DONE4 you have unlimited stopovers and no restrictions regarding multiple stopovers in any place except for the max of 2 stopovers in the continent of origin. I have had multiple LON stops on several DONE4 itineraries. Its just the 40 quid tax that gets you!

Thanks - I must have been getting confused with *A RTW rules.

Yeah well aware of LON charges adding up quickly. Do you know if the rule to avoid it is 24 hours, same date, or something else?

One thing I found out about last night what Upgrading from DONE4 to DONE5 does not give you anymore sectors :(. I is looking like I may need to goto Angola (EEK!) for work I was hopeing you may have got 24 sectors with a DONE5.

That's correct, no more sectors ... but you do get an extra 4 stopovers in Africa (or S/A).

I am looking at buying the ticket seperate. As I have all 20 sectors allocated. It just does not feel right to Pay more and remove a destiantion from the DONE4.

If the transit connection is international, then its 24 hours. If the transit connection is domestic, then it is 6 hours, or if the arrival is after 5pm then the domestic departure must be before 10am the following day.

And the amount payable varies by the destination of the departing flight, from as low as GBP5 for domestic or certain EC counties in the lowest cabin class, up to GBP40 for international departures (non-EC or EEA points) in a cabin class other than the lowest cabin offered.

It may well work out cheaper to remove existing flights (eg intra-europe), replacing them with separate ticket, and upgrade your DONE4 to DONE5. I imagine Angola may be expensive to get to/from europe.

On an OW ATW ticket, a stopover occurs if you exceed 24 hours regardless of whether it is domestic or international
