A friend of mine is traveling domestic PER-MEL to meet up with her father and hop onto an EK flight to the EU via DXB.

Although I have a feeling I know the answer, would any of the domestic carriers interline her checked baggage onto the EK, so all she would have to do is check in for the EK flight?

I have a feeling that the answer would be no, but no harm in asking.

I believe QF will interline with EK. Not certain about DJ or JQ. TT definately not.

Could she take the EK flight from PER and meet in DXB?

That was my advice, but apparently the EK flights are already booked.

Connecting in SIN might be another option? I believe there's an EK flight via SIN (not 100% sure if it's ex-MEL though).

OP may want to check with QF as I'm almost certain the recent changes to their baggage policy meant they won't interline unless it's on the one ticket.
