Domestic Flight Connecting to International - Boarding Passes?..

Can anyone advise whether boarding passes for both the domestic and international flights are provided at the port of departure? For example, when flying from Hobart to Denpasar via Melbourne or Sydney.

Or, is it required to again 'line up' at international check in and collect the international boarding passes?I understand that baggage is checked through to the ultimate destination, but am unclear on the boarding passes.

Also, if the boarding passes aren't provided at port of departure, can they be printed at the Virgin Australia lounge in Melbourne or Sydney prior to going through to the international terminal?

In my experience VA give you all the boarding passes when you check in for the first flight, in a little cardboard folder. Red for economy, purple for business.

Last time we flew Syd>BNE>LAX and we were given boarding passes for both flights but in BNE, we were called to the gate shortly before it opened to show our passports.

Yep you will get both - even when traveling to NZ on NZ metal - I received a VA boarding pass as they checked our passports in HBA - gave us an express pass for Mel (being gold) and was in Koru lounge in 30 odd minutes.
