Does Qantas keep a dedicated fleet to particular routes

To a point, and mainly with low frequency turn around routes.

For example with MEL-AKL, until QF25 became a MEL route, Qantas used to use the 763 planes twice each way for a week or so until they required a scheduled service.

cf QF33 (AKL-MEL 6am-8am, QF<tba> MEL-AKL 9:30am-3:15pm, QF134 AKL-MEL 4:15pm-6:15pm & QF39 MEL-AKL 7:30PM-1am)

More recently, a 763 does AKL-BNE, BNE-AKL, AKL-MEL, MEL-AKL.

Not as much as they used to do. We used to refer to the 744 fleet as being Kangaroo Config or Pacific Config, with the Pacific config having the enlarged business class cabin. This change a little with the Skybed installation, but is somewhat reverting to the old days again.

The 744-ERs and the 64J config 744s are generally used on the Pacific routes, but it is not at all unusual to see the 64J config 3-class 744s operating the Kangaroo run.

Obviously the 2-class fleet are used on the 2-class routes like QF5/6, QF25/26, QF176/176 etc.

Its only the 744 aircraft that could be considered to have sub-fleets.

Care to elaborate on that claim?

Looking at the ACARS reports for the last few weeks, I see QF0041 and QF0042 as being operated by the following 767-338 aircraft:

VH-OGA
VH-OGB
VH-OGC
VH-OGH
VH-OGM
VH-OGO
VH-OGQ
VH-OGR
VH-OGT

And the only aircraft that has operated the mission twice in the last 3 weeks is VH-OGQ. I do not see any evidence to indicate there is a sub-fleet of QF's International Config 767-338 aircraft that are that are dedicated to the SYD-CGK-SYD route. Please share any evidence you may have that indicates otherwise.
