Hello all, I have a question regarding the '4 eligible flights' to retain QF status. Basically I had flew with QF 3 times now, and my status credit will be more than enough for Gold for another year. However, I am 1 flight short of the minimum 4 requirements.

Have an upcoming trip that I need to book a one way MEL - SYD, upon checking the price of QF flights in the time I need to fly, lowest price is about $250. While on JQ site, it starts from $93 without a plus bundle. So even though I rare fly with JQ, this seems like a good choice for me.

So my question is, does the basic JQ fare count as eligible flight for QF status, or I have to buy the plus bundle which is $40 more.

Thanks!

Without checking the site I think you need the bundle. What did their website say?

Need bundle.
When I used JQ I always had to pay up for bundle to earn QFF points and SC.
My relo got zilch as him and family didn't get bundle SYD - ADL.
Make sure to check too if your flight is from AVV.

It needs to be a points earning flight to count (or get the squiggle) so you need the plus pack

As noted above must be a points earning flight.

Also, be prepared to wait a long time for the points/SCs to come through. Take a photo of your boarding pass as you'll probably need to send a copy to Qantas to get appropriate credit.

As per above, I had a JQ flight on which I used the price match, so no points or SCs. I got into an argument with the QF centre saying "I don't want points, I want a squiggle" but you can imagine how that went.

Thanks all for the help, guess bundle it is then.
Not flying domestic flight frequently, but I still remember like a few years ago, MEL - SYD flight usually at $99, and only those expensive ones will reach like $129 or so. But these days, seems like everything is doubled or even more...
You can pay $500-600 for a return to SIN/HKG, and you can also pay for $200 for one way SYD...

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Also, I think that (correct me if I am wrong), but no way of sneaking in their QFF # into a JQ booking, after the booking has been paid for, you can't, can you?
Only opportunity is in the buying of the JQ ticket stage, where you choose the bundle.
Each time, after the JQ booking, when I had a look see, there was not a way to enter QFF #.

I raised this in another thread the other day. BNE-SYD is now $184 if you cannot book too far ahead and that's only some flights. Most flights are more expensive as cheap fare buckets are sold out.
