Do I have any recourse with Qantas?

TBH I don't think I would have made travel arrangements in the first place that only had 9 (overnight) hours between separate international itineraries even if it was the same airline, let alone different airlines. If you had to book those flights for work, is there any chance of work reimbursing you for the $765?
