Disgusting service

Poor service bris/manila/bris flight. Drinks spilt on you, food trollies run into you, interiour of plane looks like it's falling apart & the food was terrible & if you asked for a drink the steward never came back.

Sadly the aircraft operating flights to Manila are about the oldest international aircraft in Qantas' fleet. It's certainly not a good advertisement for Qantas' usual standard on international services.

Doesn't sound like a good flight experience. Setting aside the aircraft issue I am surprised at the rest.

Although for a while my preference was not for Qantas in Business due to unpredictability of service levels (and Neil Perry's awful menu) I am flying them a lot more now domestically and international. I have never had issues like food spilled on me or carts pushed into me.

Can we assume given your outrage was sufficient to register for this website to complain that you complained on exiting the flight and formally complained via the QF website?

Note the OP didn't say they travelled J

Hi, I don't think you'll get much sympathy from me with that little information. Would you care to expand on your points?

Qantas stands for poor service & poor maintenance.
SHAME ON YOU!

Speaking from my own personal experience myself and my wife used qantas a number of times a year between 2002 to 2006 between Melbourne and Sydney (maybe their quality has changed since then). My wife required wheelchair assistance to and from the aircraft each time.I could not fault the service provided by Qantas staff during that period on and off the aircraft.

Agree with Alan here. A new person joining and posting two rants with no supporting information is not likely to draw much sympathy.

As someone who's taken hundreds of QF flights, I'll agree the service can and does vary wildly from flight to flight, but i've never had anything as bad as that (and I have flown on many of the now ancient 763's that QF plough on the west-east-west routes).

Welcome to AFF, but perhaps try and be more verbose (and possibly objective) in your rants if you with to solicit sympathy/help :)

I know there’s generally a lot of turbulence over the Philippines on CX, so if there was turbulence while they were serving food I could understand a little. Still not good obviously.

Most amazing service I have ever had was on CX in F in turbulence. The CX crew were still doing the caviar/smoked salmon appetiser rolling quinnells of sourced cream whilst the cart was literally bouncing in the air. I actually at one point did hold the cart down as I was concerned for the crew's safety...

Unless the turbulence well and truly came suddenly "out of the blue", I'm sure most if not all FAs should be pretty clued up on how to anticipate the serving of food and drink in order to compensate for the turbulence or avoid spilling it on the pax. Happy to be corrected here, but serving food and drink on a plane is not trivial and I'm sure FAs are heavily trained in how to deal with these kinds of tasks and conditions.

Also, the OP says the flight was BNE/MNL, which means that if the turbulence was over the Philippines, it would be unlikely that food and drink would be being served then, as it should be time for the cabin to be prepared for landing, or everyone should be strapped in by then. Even if it were on the way back, you would probably be out of Philippine airspace before food was served and/or the turbulence would force a delay in the food/drink service, which puts even more certainty on when the food would be served.

In saying that, turbulence around the SE Asia / China Sea region is not unusual IME (honestly, turbulence any where is not unusual ).

Main reason I always fly CX MNL>HKG, QF HKG>SYD and vice versa. Longer journey but well worth it..... feeling safe knowing that I am not on those 767s that might to fall apart during flight!!:p

Plus ...check out the prices on that route!

I always love how the Singapore Girls handle turbulence in those dresses - crouch down while still holding a full tray of drinks , whilst still grabbing my blanket that fell off me - all with a smile and an offer of another red wine!

gokeeffe,

As no one else actually asked I must assume your reference to poor maintenance is purely the comment 'interiour of plane looks like it's falling apart'. Is that the case :?:

If so, it is a long bow to draw to say because something is looking tired, it is poorly maintained. Have you ever considered that QF may not be very impressed with this situation either and that it will all go away when Airbus and Boeing manage to get their delivery schedules back in order :?:

I think you are all too kind - not a bad thing (actually its nice) - but this seems to be a post and run

and yes I could be wrong and I apologise if thats the case
