The only other thing to point out is that BNE-AKL does have an A332 operating on the morning flight to AKL, and the 15:30 flight from AKL - BNE, making for a much more comfortable SC run
I find it wild that MEL-AKL has no widebodies.

Anyway, I have to pick between MEL (737 but FLounge) and BNE (A330 but no FLounge)... :)

Atm, I can't seem to find pricing on QF website that matches what the ITA output is, cause fares to DPS are coming back at like 4k? What dates/route combinations did you search?

Edit: Even then, with the best ITA fares that I can find on the route SYD-xMEL-DPS-xMEL-SYD, it still works out to be $3.67 per SC (Total fare quoted was 2643, SC earn with DSC is 720).

Thanks for posting an example, rather than being opaque. I'm only seeing 660 SCs, though (165 each way).

I searched for that routing in December. ITA shows a low of $2468 in December on the calendar page ... then zero QF flights on the actual flights page.

That's my bad, it was searching on QF website for comparable fares to work out the SC gain, but the only fares that would come up are Flex, rather than Saver. 660 is right, but unfortunately means even less SC value

Quick question - Is it possible to do this same day given the 1 hour transit time for the AKL-BNE return? Would QF print all boarding passes at origin or is this a mobile check in thing?

New to this. Can someone confirm that when booking, only the original Status Credits are shown in the booking? Just booked BNE - MEL - AKL - MEL - BNE. The booking shows 290 SCs. Business.

Correct. The 290 base status credits will also be what's used to calculate your loyalty bonus (not the 580 status credits you'll receive travelling during the DSC). Remember every 500 status credits earned flying QF/JQ will earn you a loyalty bonus of 8000 bonus points or 50 bonus SCs.

This is PC / PC+ but SYD > CBR > MEL only costs more taxes but the same for points redemption. For those looking to convert some points to status, this could be a good option.

Seems there are some hidden J fares to NZ, but only out of BNE/MEL and not SYD.

Will have a play when I get home tonight to see what I can make work.

Mind you I still haven't got all my DSCs from this years NZ run because the flights were changed for SYD-MEL_WLG to SYD-WLG), I had to chase the ORCs which were finally fixed (after 6 calls and 2 emails) but they wouldn't do the related DSCs over the phone, tole me requested to another queue but I fear that is a lie; and it is so complicated to call again. After my April trip I tick over to platinum officially (which I should be already except for the missing DSCs) and then hopefully can speak to Hobart and get them retrospectively as it all counts toward LTG.

Id be travelling the same weekend again so real risk of multiple reschedules before then.

One other stupid question but I think it's worth asking. Is there any requirement that the travel must originate in Australia? For instance if I were to fly from Japan to Australia on a QF issued ticket, with a QF flight number (obviously on QF metal) would that qualify?

The reason I ask is there are some particularly good J deals ex-NZ. For instance consider these one ways:

160 status credits for 541 by flying CHC to BNE:

320 status credits for $876 by flying AKL to DRW (via MEL):
