I have a run booked ex-SFO next year that nets 660 SC for AUD1286 or $1.94/SC. I think I've posted it up-thread in the last fortnight. It's to PTY. If it's not there and somewhere is interested let me know.

In a single day or with stopover?

Edit: yes I found it but it's a two day affair. With SWMBO on the trip too, 2 days may stretch the marital ties somewhat...

We've now re-jigged the trip to have a couple of days in SEA so perhaps I can look at that other run mentioned earlier.

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

Hi,

I'll be in Germany next February and got about 36hrs to spare ex DUS or CGN.
Are there any good runs available that anyone can think of?

Great source this forum by the way. Just been to the US again and should've checked here earlier. Could've made it to Gold already by now.

Cheers
David

DUS-MAD return on IB will give you 120 SC for AUD590 (4.92/SC)

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

Where do I book these?
Going straight to IB gives me $2500 and I can't book everything on the same day on IB website.

You said you had 36 hours, the TFN run has an overnight stay. Here's a mock booking on Iberia.com. The MAD and LIS trips can be done same day.

Hi Danger I am looking for a run out of LAX or LV in March next year. (could also do SFO I guess) ....need 420 sc's to retain gold I have looked at PTY but cost was high but will go back in and try again, any tips appreciated, there are 2 of us and we are in the USA for a month so can stop over for a few days if need be anywhere ...have previously done HNL-SJU a few years ago but again prices have all gone up Thanks in advance
The other thing that we want to do at some point is go to Washington, Dallas and Nashville, not sure what cost AA would charge for that in business/first and whether the SC's would be enough

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

I'm currently SG looking for 300SC to retain it. I have a trip planned MEL-SYD-LAX-SEA (leaving 05/01/15 and returning on 20/01/2016) then back again all on QF/codeshare flights which should yield me 140 each way (Flex Econ) and are looking at either grabbing a quick 20SC to keep SG or should I be so bold as to try and reach WP with another 700? I suspect 700 will be a bit much for the kitty to take but i thought given i'm not starting in an AA hub, there might be some 'good value' options available? I'm happy to drop say $AU1500 on the 700SC but anything more than that starts to not make sense. I'm only doing it so that I can say once in my life that I was platinum, there will be 0% chance of achieving it ever again :). I've been checking matrix for options but I'm just guessing as destinations, is there any 'sure fire' routes to check? TIA! :)

What sort of budget are you envisaging?

Here's one option. I haven't done the sums but I'm confident it would be in your ballpark.

You can get up to 16 flights into those PTY return fares as it's a MPM fare. It's possible, but you may need a TA.

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

Hi folks, does anyone have any favourite deals at the moment for a round-trip status run ex-SYD?
Looking for:
QF flight number
Business class
minimal cost ($2000 or less)
No overnight stay
Needs to be booked by 1st December (to take advantage of a 50% bonus SC offer I've been sent)
Thanks!

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

Hi all,
Looks like I have 285 points to hit before December 31 to get Platinum for the first time. I got an email from Qantas about a bonus 50 points but they wouldnt count until next year - doh!
I have 1 penciled in work trip, MEL-SYD return, and would guess that would be 40 points total. So 245 points to get.

Any good deals for 245 points leaving from MEL? Prefer no overnight stay and if possible to stay in the country.

Thanks :D
