Discussion of fuel dumps

What are you going to tell your sister in law about the nature of her ticket?

Didn't really think about that since I couldn't even get the price down but I thought the standard "my car broke down on the way to a funeral while I was changing my tyre hence I couldnt make the 3x leg".

Also no asking for special treatment, upgrades, seat changes and be as inconspicuous as possible.

Hi everyone, I've been reading up on the mystery of FD for the better half of today. I'm interested in taking a flight form London to New York and was hoping I could talk to anyone to find out if my searching methods are a waste of time or not. So far I haven't found a single flight that will reduce the YQ a single cent, only managing to increase the total fare. So if anyone would like to PM me, I'd be most grateful.
Cheers

Ok I've found the fair below:

LHR-JHK roundtrip on VS or DL... BF = $146, YQ/YR = $238. Sometime in March

Any help would be greatly appreciated, been trying for a 3x for a few days now and no luck.

Thanks.

Appreciate this thread is a little old but is anyone here still having a dig at this? I've had some decent practice lately :D

I have to admit that I pretty much have given up after being so unsuccessful. I put in a solid two weeks, and while I know and understand the concept, actually finding working dumps is just too time consuming, and the community over on flyertalk have a very tight lip, understandably.

I generally spend a few hours a week playing around with it, but am no longer based in Aus so my focus has not been on routes that side of the world.

I'm still digging from time to time.
There are a few dumps for flights ex AUS, but they're hard to find and only work with limited airlines.
Most of my flights I get dumped by experts at https://www.chimpando.com

What kind of fares have they come back with? Just trying to get an idea of what routes you've had them research and how deep the discounts are.

I booked a dumped SQ fligh to Europe with them, which saved me a couple hundred $.
For trips to the US I received also good offers, without any hacking. Mostly booked at european OTAs.
On shorthaul flights the savings mostly do not compensate the fee. However I got my money back, so it's worth a try.

I had a look at the relevant thread on FT again after a long time and wasn't surprised to see WWE killing it with amazing tricks. FD is like the holy grail...

Anyone got any tips on dumping EK YQ?

The mistake fares VA sold last month for SQ metal didn't apply YQ, so a lot of people got away with crazy cheap fares.

Doing a search on OzBargain for "Singapore Airlines" will show $900 PER-SFO ($943 on SQ's site), which dumps about $600 in YQ. So yes, SQ fuel dumps are still alive and well.

Would an site like the aforementioned be able to help identify these? I've tried sifting through to find some but it's so hit or miss, with the emphasis on miss.

Doubt it. This specific example I priced on Matrix by hand.
