I am looking at staying at the Hilton Tokyo in a few weeks time.

Does anyone know of a good website where I might be able to get a discounted room?

I have checked Wotif, Zuji, and Quickbeds without any luck.

Thanks in advance.

IIRC Hilton Tokyo currently is on special on www.hilton.com (do a search for the hotel, click link on hotel name and select tab on the right for specials).

I believe Kiwi Flyer is referrring to this page...

I don't use discounters web site, so can't help you there.

Unfortunately, whilst the Hilton Premium Club has an Asian Exclusive Room Rate voucher, it's only for Hilton Osaka (from USD$155 per night).

Thats the page - but not the special I was thinking of. Drat have deleted the email. Will see if I can find reference or link.

Sorry I cant find it on FT or Hilton site. Needed a special code, and I've deleted the email which contained it. Perhaps you could post on FT asking for it - someone is bound to still have the email?

Not Hilton specific, though go here for discounted hotels and car hire in Japan (in English): http://www.tocoo.com/english/submenu/howtouse/index.html

Prices from Aus$40. I have used this company before (albeit their Japanese site) with no problems.

I'll be at the Hilton Narita next Friday 9th September. When are you arriving?

Arriving 30 September

Friday night anywhere in Tokyo will be expensive. Most local reservation sites for discounted premium hotels are usually in Japanese only. There are a couple of "asia-based" sites which could help. For eg. I've used the following site before with no problems, however only for bookings outside Japan.

http://www.asiahotels.com/hl/Tokyo-Japan.asp

There are some discounts available at Expedia.com. It's an American site but accepts Australian credit cards for hotels (though not flights). I have used it several times to book hotels outside Australia and have found it very reliable, and the rates generally as good as are available anywhere.

For 30 September it has rooms available for US$183.24 and up.

Tokyo Hilton ain't that good - unless you absolutely need to be in the thick of it, try the Keio Plaza hotel in Shinjuku (good range of Japanese & Western food from the 20+ restaurants in the towers). Right near Shinjuku station, too.

Hilton Nagoya would have to be my favourite in Japan, awesome Teppenyaki and the best breakfast in Asia.

Agree the Keio Plaza is good while Shinjuku is a great base in Tokyo. I also like Shibuya, as it's an easy walk to Omotesando, Harajuku, Aoyama... Roppongi is the other obvious choice. Was at the Conrad Saturday which is located opposite the Hamarikyu Garden in Shiodome. Great views of the Tokyo Bay skyline, and within easy walking to Ginza. I'd recommend walking from the Conrad through the Hamarikyu Garden (admission fee) to the ferry, and taking it up to Asakusa. You can then catch a subway from the station next to the ferry terminal. Great views along the river.

The Expo in Nagoya has been doing a roaring trade with attendance figures well over budget. As you probably know, the Nagoya Hilton has been booked solid for the last 6 months.
