Digital Passenger Declaration to Replace Incoming Passenger Card

Question to those who have completed:
Do you have to upload the test results or just tick a box to say you have tested and it's negative?

Technologically challenged patents about to complete it in the UK and they will start it 7 days out, will they have to go back in to complete the test part?

Many thanks!
Test results have to be uploaded (can use camera to take a photo)

Have to upload the test results. Can be picture or pdf.

Have just completed my DPD and it took way too long. Entering data, i.e. COVID Vaccinations that the government already knows and required my passport details to get originally.

Took 30+ minutes to upload the documents.

Then I did my travelling colleague's DPD. Didn't want to accept anything. Took a couple of hours to get it done. Had to resize documents even though the site had previously accepted documents the same size.

Spoke to a bloke in the lift and he said that a recent JQ flight took off quite late because lots of people hadn't done their DPD.

Hope it's better tonight, have received several SMSs from JQ reminding me to do it.

Did my COVID test this morning and all negative so hoping the plane departs on time.

My partner has completed second DPD, and p@##ed off that you have to upload details again, couldn't seem to access previous declaration where all the documents (except pre-departure test) are the same.

Is there a way of doing it so you only have to upload these once, and not repeat every time?

It's completely ridiculous that you have to upload an Australian passport to the Australian government. WTF?

So JQ check in last night at HKT was 'interesting'.

There were lots of signs saying it was required and staff started walking the line to check pax had completed it.

I was second on the business class line and the person in front of me had done theirs as had I so I didn't really care.

Check in was slow with staff not sure of what to look for or how to read it.

Got through eventually.

On arrival in Melbourne this morning was asked to show my DPD screen shots. Because they didn't explicitly show my vaccination history I then had to show the paper certificate. Surely Home Affairs would realise that for the DPD to be issued I had to upload these details?

Having the DPD process just makes it harder to travel and I will seriously consider if overseas travel is worth it until COVID is over.
Too many confusing processes and officials who don't know what they're doing can really stuff up a trip.

Is anyone feeding all this rubbish back to the Department?

Covid won't be over for a long time.

What is the point of DPD really? If our vaccines have been linked to our passports then alot of these details / uploading shouldnt be needed.

Is anyone feeding all this rubbish back to the Department?
Well I have just got my negative PCR test (yay!) so went online to do the DPD

What a complete pain in the cough. I'm usually pretty forgiving of this bureaucratic paperwork but this was a joke. Wouldn't allow me to upload JPEG, only PDF. Upload vaccine certificate then have to insert all the details manually anyway?

I am an Australian citizen returning home, why on earth do I have to input my passport number then all the other relevant details of my passport? Can't the passport number and name be electronically verified by the Department in the background as happens with airlines check in systems?

Perhaps a good idea in theory but very poorly implemented IMO in these somewhat early days.

What happens if you haven’t done it:
- can’t check in and denied boarding?
- show qr codes on phone or paper copies of relevant docs on arrival?

There are always exceptions.

I wonder if the state governments are a driving force?

I arrived home, showered and then went to do the consumables shopping required after an overseas trip.

The a few hours after arriving home got an email from VIC GOV telling me I was required to do a COVID 19 test within 24 hours and to isolate until I had a negative result.

I went to where I got my paid pre-departure test. I was the only person there and did the test citing a return from overseas as the reason.
Got the negative result at 0600 hours this morning.

WTF for

I feel like a broken record, but...

"they just can't let go"

So to those of you who have actually completed a DPD exactly what docs need to be uploaded please?

I also read that from Apr 17 no pre flt testing required? Is there some good reason why they wouldn’t instigate that policy immediately?

Yes

Thought I didn't have a PDF copy of my Vax cert (dunno where it went) so I "scanned" it with my phone (Google Drive) as a PDF and uploaded that way.
