Departure/Arrival cards, do you have some at home?

Ok, my colleagues looked at my like I was an Alien when I was completing my Departure card for Sydney my Arrivals and Departure card for Bangkok and my Arrivals card for Sydney at my desk. Is it strange I have these all in at home (I usually take some when queuing)? I like to have them completed before I actually travel so I don't have to worry about them or scribble whilst flying...

Not anymore, but I have in the past had a few sitting around at home, and I'd pre-fill them in a few days earlier. I'd just need to remember to write the correct date next to my signature.
Made getting through airports quicker...

Departure Cards, and Express cards for departure and arrival for me.

No arrival cards, I don't mind filling those in on the plane.

I have some Australia, NZ, HKG and various other country Arrival & Departure cards in my travel wallet at all times (plus a couple of Express Lane invitations that weren't taken off me).

My only concern is checking that they are still valid. But like you TonyHancock, I like to fill them out prior to travel - particularly when I was filling out for 4 pax.

Guilty!
My travel wallet has departure and arrival cards for AU, as well as inbound and outbound express cards (which I'm keeping for when my APEC card expires later this year :( ) and I also fill them out before getting to the airport.

(This thread just reminded me to fill one out for my trip to India on Sunday)

I usually have spare arrival forms for China, Korea & Taiwan as well.....

I just wish AU had an on-line system like ESTA so I didn't have to fill them out every trip. 20 times in the last 18 months, so I know my passport number, expiry date and APEC number off-by-heart now......

I started having a couple of spares one and completing them before travel after I was writing one and hitting an air pocket and having to start over (after one to many wines...)

Certainly!

  • Departure card pre-filled out saves time in getting to the FLounge after checking in.
  • Arrivals card, can fill in on an aeroplane, but occasionally they have not been loaded so I carry spares; saves a minute or two.

Also do this for NZ.

No, you're quite normal (for this forum) OP. ;)

I try and remember to grab a handful of whatever relevant cards are available. I also assess, after clearing security, whether I need to use the express emigration at MEL, if not then I go through the 'normal' channel and hang onto the express card for a 'rainy day' (losing the appropriate status for example) or to give to someone else to use. :)

I have a stash of both cards at home. Anyone noticed that it is now 'illegal coughography" not 'coughography" that you have to declare on the arrivals card...

I still haven't gone through enough of my pile to the point where I would see the P word on the card.

Yup, I've got departure and arrival cards for Australia (along with several express cards that I haven't used) in my travel wallet. :) I prefer getting the cards filled out when still at my desk at work, rather than attempting to fill out an arrivals card whilst onboard (and quite possibly whilst at an advanced state of refreshment..!)

Likewise, I have cards for departures and arrivals into Australia and New Zealand. Hopefully the cards can't go out of date if they update them, would be very annoying to have to re-do the card because they'd updated the question. I'm sure the answer would still be no.
