According to my AusPost app, my healthylife order from Tuesday just arrived. Wasn't expected to ship until next week. So I can recommend if you can get your order to qualify for express post and you need RATs

You must be blessed. AP just delivered our Christmas gift to SIL - express post from Sydney on 20 Dec to outer Melb. It got to Melb on 21 but then spent time going backwards and forwards between the airport and Sunshine West centre. Every day the app would move expected date on. I am not trusting them for something important!

I’ve had no issues with Australia Post, but everyone’s experiences are different of course!

From our experience over the last two years, Aus Post has been consistently more reliable than the various courier firms. They've been slower but no spectacular stuff-ups. I get the impression the system was overwhelmed but continued to doggedly grind away.
Being reasonably up on the various border restrictions, I've found some of the excuses offered by the courier companies to be ridiculous. I think it was/is convenient to blame Covid, instead of just 'fessing up!

How unusual. Does your SiL live neatly between two delivery centers? Perhaps a case of no care, no responsibility.

My parcels used to come from one delivery Centre but the most recent one came from a different Centre. So maybe some teething issues/changes

Sorry to be OT.
I have previously found AP quite reliable and have had no problems (as opposed to some couriers). This was just bizarre - the tracking showed the parcel went between the airport and Sunshine West five times before finally being delivered. As it was express post, I was not impressed and lodged a complaint - no reason given but that it was 'on time'. I have a survey about 'how we did' - and I may just tell them.

Don’t waste your time w a survey.
I had AP parcel with no signature required
…was sitting in study (next to front door and doorbell ). No attempt to ring . I open door and find a ‘you weren’t home …’ note just thrown on the doormat!! I made a complaint w all the details (time date location etc) AND given complaint number with a promise of a followup.
All I then got were the surveys asking ‘how did we do’ which I kept answering with ‘where’s the resolution of my complaint xx_?’
nothing nada never heard a thing 😂😂☹️

More OT but some might find it entertaining!
I've had courier company local depot tell me, after I requested an investigation, that they attempted to deliver a week previous and left a card. Hmm, where was the card left; no explanation. How did the driver avoid me as I was fencing the driveway that week; no explanation. Why is the tracking still showing pallet at Melbourne depot; no explanation. As it is now in Tasmania, how did it get there without being scanned at any intermediary point; no explanation. I went and collected it from depot myself and thought problem solved.
Next day, call from courier company investigation branch: we have not been able to locate your item. I explained situation. Two days later, e.mail from courier company investigation branch: we have not been able to locate your item. I replied, explaining situation....This went on for weeks and they eventually blamed Covid!

How Kafkaesque - at least I got my parcel in the end !!

There were Kafkaesque elements but I found it more James Heller. I had the goods but they wouldn't believe me and continued to investigate for weeks. Not quite the same as being pronounced dead and not being able to persuade bureaucracy that they were wrong, but the vibes were similar!
I believe the sending company lodged a complaint and the shipment fee was re-funded. They might even have received compensation for lost goods. If they did, no-one told me!

I see my tale of woe had appeared twice. Fascinating. That consignment truly was jinxed. Even discussing it causes gremlins to appear!
