Delays in crediting FF points after JQ Jetflex flights

Surely QF and JQ should be sufficiently "associated" so that when one has to fly JQ (eg the Gold Coast or most times to Hobart) that JQ legs should show up in My Bookings and flights show up in FF activity statements in a timely manner:mad:
After an Horizons Airline flight from Boise to LAX I could check my bookings and my activity statement in the lounge while waiting for my QF flight home and see both the progress of my flights and see my points up to date. It is not good enough that points and SC from a JQ Jetflex flight do not show up for days or weeks (that can cause all sorts of problems if an annual status assessment intervenes).
Meanwhile a flight booking I made with AY (Finnair) next June showed up on my FF My Bookings as soon as I booked it through an internet booking agent.
Is this lack of communication between QF and JQ a deliberate attempt to make flying JQ less convenient or simply the result of a "silo" structure in IT development in the two entities?
 
QF use a different GDS to JQ, they are completely different companies and go out of their way to be different.
 
You wouldn't ordinarily see a Finnair flight under your bookings, unless the flight connects from or to a Qantas flight, or perhaps the travel agent uses Amadeus and there is a Qantas flight somewhere in the itinerary?

I must admit to being surprised when I saw it. I booked through Expedia which asked for my FF number and that of other family members on the same booking, which show up in my "My Booking".
The flight is a standalone flight St Petersberg - Helsinki- Stockholm with no Qantas connections. Neither leg appears to have a QF codeshare on any website. On teh Qantas website, Helsinki and St Petersburg are not on the list of international cities and the QF booking system insists on taking you to Stockholm via Heathrow and BA (what a horrible thought:!:)

Expedia use Amadeus, which is the same system Qantas use, which would explain its appearance on the site. It's a side effect, rather than anything done by design.
 
I flew JetStar Singapore - Darwin - Sydney FlexJet, just for the SC's. I needed 40 to make WP. I took the flight on 1/10. Status review was 31/10. After calling once a day for a week, they credited my account 40 SC and awarded me WP. The flight was worth 80 SC. But it doesn't matter since they all get wiped anyway. But I've never seen the SC or MP from that flight.

The SC's do count towards Lifetime status with QF though, so it might be worth chasing the extra 40 SC's down.

Little did I know when I wrote those words that I would:

a) have to fly with Jetstar
b) find myself wondering how long it takes to get SC's and points
c) be wondering why QF/JQ are so poorly integrated after the fact*

* I understand that QF/JQ are separate businesses but when i try and book domestic flights through the QF website I see loads of JQ flights - this is just annoying.
 
The posting time is pathetic. Here's my examples (All flights were "missing points" claimed as soon as possible, and all flights allegedly had my number recorded in the system:

Dec 25. Domestic Jetflex - Has not posted.
Dec 26. Intl Starclass. - Posted on 21 Jan.
Jan 4. Intl Starclass. - Posted on 25 Jan.
Jan 5. Dom Starclass (codeshare on QF).- Has not posted.

NOT GOOD ENOUGH QANTAS AND JETSTAR!

Absolutely pathetic Jetstar and Qantas. You need to pick up your game considerably.

Only lucky in that The flights posted without prompting in that time frame. The jetsavers are non earning so doesn't matter when they post. Also lucky because your experience with lodging the points claims seems to be a lot slower than my experience.

Agreed that it is pretty pathetic. Another example where QF disown JQ if they have to provide something.
 
My last flight I just put a points claim in after 3 days and it posted within a week.

Bugger waiting for them!
 
As I said, I've been lucky my points earning flights on jetstar have posted within a week with no points claim required. :D
 
I recall placing an online claim a couple of weeks after my JQ domestic flight (Jetflex). A few days later the status credits were added (it was a government paid ticket, hence the no points). Then my activity statement showed an "ineligible flight" note a week later - presumably it had posted itself in the interval between claiming and being manually checked.

The whole process seems a shambles especially when points from oneworld partners show up quicker. I think the issue might be IT related in that QF and JQ IT systems are functional silos and don't communicate.
 
I have to agree - the system is shoddy, considering it took just two days for my BA flights to appear last year on my activity statement, and am still waiting for my JQ JetFlex tickets to appear from 24/25 January 2011.


I just rang FF Customer Service, because with the JetFlex tickets + my trip to Melb next Monday, I will have switched over to WP. I need this to appear on the system as we're flying to HNL on the 24th and I want to make use of the FLounge.

FF Customer Service said there wasn't anything they can do, however when I asked for the CS Representative's name, she did suggest that I email a scan of the BPs to them.

An IT upgrade may be required, but this scares me because we all know how badly those things can go if rushed... (hello Vodafone - are you listening?) :shock:
 
Is there a reason why you are not adding your FFN number at time of booking on the Jetstar site ? If the booking has this data , the flight is recorded in your profile a few days after the event .

A insider has told me that any online claims made after the flight are manually handled by Jetstar , hence the delay . They are working on a automated system , but at this stage , delays can be up to 5 weeks . If you need the status credits , suggest you call the FFSC with all your flight info handy.

I think the problem, in some cases at least, is that they're not crediting even with the FF number added.
