Delayed flight SIN-MEL

Where have people managed to obtain accomm/meals vouchers? Is this at the checkin desk or some other desk?

IME, generally at the check-in desk for meal vouchers, accomm they may refer you to a service desk (that may be in a fluster!).

If you want to get on another flight they are obligated to refund the fare...

Maybe so, but you would need to weigh this up against your ability to find a comparable one way fare at short notice and the length of time it would take to get the refund.

Just had a quick look on expertflyer... all flights are full, apparently, with the exception of QF6 showing J5 C5 D5 I5 so if you insist hard enough, they may be able to find a space for you.

QF32 departing in 2 hours time also has W2, if that helps...

So you could just check in as per the normal time, go to the lounge and stay the flight is called ;)

This option was definitely considered  but given likely lounge closure and possible inability to walk to gate when flifgt called, was discounted.

Thanks again.

We will head to airport at 'normal' time and just take it from there. QF texted me at 0400 (!) to advise a further delay in departure to 0805 Tuesday, so for me it is a clear cut accommodation issue now, previously could almost have just lobbed at the airport and lounged or slept a few extra hours.

I can handle the delay, I've no pressing need to be back, but Bundy Bear OTOH I think is keen to reroute if possible, but as per Awesom Andy's post, options seem extremely limited.

Well QF just called me and offered me QF52 at around 2100 tonight to BNE and QF613(?) onto MEL, so I took it. While I don't have to be home at any given time, I have definitely switched into 'go home' mode, and it saves stuffing around going out to the airport and coming back to whatever accommodation would have been offered, then getting out of bed early (yecch!) to go back to the airport and checkin in the morning.

I hope Bundy Bear gets a similar call.

Just posted in Travel news but the reason for the chaos is OQD went US in LHR on the 14th owing to a collision with a vehicle.

Well that would certainly explain it. Thx for the info.

BTW, transferring INT-DOM at BNE - is the train (paid I presume) the only option, or does QF provide something? I'm going to look it up now but thought I may as well ask anyway. Ta.

QF actually has a bus which is a BNE airport bus.

TBus services operate between the terminals every 20 minutes, or every 10 minutes during peak times during the day, and are complimentary for passengers holding a Qantas Boarding Pass or itinerary receipt for their connecting flight.

I think the train is now nominally a T-Bus (transfer shuttle bus). Complimentary with onwards documentation (BP or document) if I'm not mistaken.

Transfer bus or train. I think you have both options now.
