Decent beach or resort close to Singapore

Off to SIN shortly for a few days, and tempted to head away from SIN to have some time at a decent beach or island to relax a little more.

Traveling with the +1, happy just to sit on a nice beach/by the pool and on this trip not too much exploring

Ideally a short flight or a ferry away

Happy to hear suggestions as I have looked at too many options

I may just stick with SIN and head to Sentosa for a bit of a fake beach with a view of the boats....... and enjoy the pool at the Conrad SIN which is quite enjoyable and warm

You could try Pulau Tioman, off the East Coast of Malaysia, maybe 160 kms (a guess) from SIN. I stayed a week there as a teenager (I'm 127 years old now ), and it was a paradise. Could see the bottom of the ocean at 80 feet depth. Of course, this was pre-resort, pre-airport, both of which I believe it now has. Whether that has improved it I don't know.

Edited to add: I believe a lot of filming for the 1950s movie South Pacific was done there, so I'm not the only one who thought it was a great location.

That's an interesting (closed) thread for a side trip of a 1 hour ferry ride from SIN. How did the sojourn go? Is there anything else to do there out of the 'resort'?

Unfortunately no...they have a shuttle which takes you to their other properties and a couple of restaurants. It's OK for a couple of days but I wouldn't go back

The pool at the W sentosa is one of the best in SIN I reckon. If you're happy with the Conrad, this one should blow you away. Comparable to coughet/Bali style resort pools.

But the place is not cheap, so if you are happy to travel from SIN then I'd do that!

This, x100. Berjaya air have flight + accommodation packages, spring for the Japamala resort if the $$ stretches - definitely worth it! Food is brilliant, and great snorkelling straight off the beach or jetty.

I'm heading to Cebu in a few weeks and there's a couple of nice resorts (Shangri La, Movenpick etc) not far ~10-15minutes from CEB airport. It's a bit further but there's direct flights from SIN with SQ for example.
