I just tried one of these a few weekends ago with friends. It seemed to carry a lot of new oak that made guessing the blend of Shiraz-Cabernet varietals impossible. None of us called it the wine of the day despite the hype around the label.

This one is Cab Merlot and Petit Verdot (FWT 585). The FWT 543 which was added in 2022 is a Cab Syrah blend - is that the one you tried?

ahh yes- 543 is the one I drank. A 389 is much better but perhaps because this is what we judge cab- shiraz blends in Australia.

I just opened the 4 vintages I got one after the other. It is indeed the Mausoleum Release 😫

Wines are NOT drinkable. Corks are fine, there was a bit of bubbles in the 2015, they all look like pee, and you don’t even need to wet your lips in it to know that it has been off for many years.

Why does a winery cough their name like that? $60 a box, not sure how many they sold, but I doubt it is worth it...

I will complain and demand a full refund.
