Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

On the subject of auctions, does anyone here use Wickmans? It's frustrating that they have lots of single bottles that are obviously the same seller. I don't want to place 6 separate bids and then win maybe 2 of them. Would rather bid on 6 and either win or lose on that.

For example, all of these are clearly the same seller -

Does the seller get to elect whether they want them listed together or separate?

Generally the seller can select how they want them listed. I usually ask the auctioneer what they recommend, and then go from there.

Noting it works both ways. I recently wanted a particular wine, but was being auctioned in a lot of 2. At $350/bottle, I only wanted (to afford) one.

I think as a seller you get generally get less when they are grouped to 6, so within reason you want it split down. But for cheaper ones a mix of groupings is best.

I have been buying odd bottles monthly from Wickman's the last few months and they let me group them for free pick up here in Melbourne. On a previous pick up they cleaned all the bottles and were super friendly. My contact has been positive.

SIPSEP25 brings Standish Lamella to $116 delivered.

This seller was known to be unreliable in the past although he had delivered everything eventually.

Back then you could only pay him via the Bank Transfer, now you can use CC so can charge back if any issues.

Funny, this was the first guy I thought of when the above was posted. Did some snooping but couldn't find any mention of his name on the website or associated companies.

Tread with extreme caution, has burnt many people over his years in the industry.
Agree 💯. My mate waited about 9 months for the delivery of his last 2 cases of Serafino whites. Eventually got them delivered with a bonus 6 pack as apologies.

Use credit cards or PayPal to claim if any issues.

Fortunately all of my cases were delivered, and there were some amazing bargains of upmarket Serafino wines

Note: Description on the page says 2020. URL says 2021. Product photo says 2022...
Apparently both 2020 and 2022s are available at the same price for those who are interested.

I am not familiar with this wine. What is the story there?
